      Realism not satisfying?

I've had a couple of LDs recently, I don't really remember whether they were WILDs or DILDs I just remember that they were weak in their structured reality. They didn't feel very realistic. Now that I'm awake and I think back to them, they seem like they were really unrealistic. Any tips? Is a direct WILD from the waking state in a WBTB the only way to achieve an absolutely realistic LD?

      Thank you for any help

Is that the first time you LD?? cause that could be why... The more experience you gain the more realistic they become... One time I woke up SOOO surprised on how touch works in an LD!!, It felt so real, sometimes it feels even more real than in 'waking life'.. I had never experienced it before... These things will come to you, you'll find all your senses much more highten, but of course, you gotta keep in mind its still a dream! So unrealistic stuff are bound to happen ... Besides, if you start going too much into detail and trying to make a dream exactly like in reality, you might run the risk of waking up, if you're analizing everything a lil' too much...

Dreams sometimes look not real but sometimes like more real than reality and sometimes they are just like reality. Like jessie said they become more real as you become better.

In my dreams, touch is my best sens. Use it, its cool how real things feel. Once, I was about to it an apple in a lucid but I could feel my braces so much (more than in real life, I don't really feel them in Real life), I was feeling them so much that I thought that if I ate the apple they would break in real life. It's definitly not my coolest experience with touch but its cool how in that dream, everything was so real, I thought I was neither awake or in a dream but that I had entered another world that was as real as waking life... It was a fun feeling but it destroyed my lucidity after a while...

What do you mean weak in structured reality...are you referring to not vivid? As for tips...the vividnes of an LD is dependant on many factors so it's prettty much 'luck'. IMO LD vividness has little to do with practise, I've had many LDs and their quality fluctuate, my first LD was hyperreal...yes realer and sharper than real. The most easy and effective way to beef up the dream vividness is to take Vit B complex pills but it may make lucidity difficult because from expereince it creates spontaneous dreams that lack any room for logic to interfere.

You can also spin with your eyes opened or rub your hands. Those work a lot.

Spinning always threw me off balance and made the lucidity worse. I always sit down, relax myself and touch the ground

Well, once my dream wasn't very vivid so i turned and it became very vivd, i could perfectly see the bush and the leaves. But I like touching stuff better. It is as good to make things lucid. Rubbing your hands is the same thing as touching the ground, its feeling. But I've never brushed my hands. I've touched the air and a slide. I never think about relaxing in a dream. I can't stop walking. I should try sitting on the ground too, it be neat.

yeah, my first LDs weren't that great either, but you will have more realistic ones with practice. just take them for what they are though dreams dont have to make sense.

I agree with all the people who say experience helps. In the early days of LDing, awareness could disrupt the dreaming process.

And I find I have my most vivid and stable (I don't like using the term "realistic" because the physics of the dream world is still off-the-wall) lucid dreams in DILDs.

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.

Its funny you say this, because my first lucid dream was one of the most vivid dreams I've ever had.
And now.. for a Stephen Strutmeyer Film...

What kind of LDer would like a copy of the reality as a dream? If your talking about vividness it'll get better over time and with experience.

I guess its not the fact that you had LDs many times that make them more vivid because they probably can be randomly wheter its your first time or not but that through experience you learn how to be more lucid and aware of your suroundings and tricks like rubbing your hands.
