Are you sure you experienced fear ? when people experience LD for the first time they usually get too excited and that causes the LD to stop. |

How do you prevent fear from stopping you from becoming fully lucid? Last night for one split moment i was particially lucid. I was about to do something in my dream but i lost lucidity because of fear, in fact the mantra i was using before i fell asleep helped me achieve the dream i wanted once again except for the fact that the dream came in a different form. Not only did fear prevent me from achieving full lucidity but, it also prevented me from doing what i wanted, my dream sign was all around me and i could have had fun in my dream but, i didn't pay attention to my dream sign. But my main problem in fear, which isn't a problem at all in real life. So, once again, how do you solve this problem of fear and how do you control it? Thanks for any replys. |

I agree with iLight, you pprobably got too excited. The first few LDs I had were extremely frustrating for the reason of waking up of being excited. |

Hm. Do you remember what exactly you were afraid of? Or why you were afraid? Try to explain it as clearly as possible, even if upon reading it doesn't seem like a good enough reason. |

I didn't want to do anything wrong just wanted to do something crazy but i'm not sure exactly what. Sometimes when there are dcs around they scare me, and i end up loosing lucidity. |

Lol, no not harsh. Fun meaning having a good time doing something crazy, something like racing each other or destroying things. |

Are you using reality checks? Maybe you should do some very reliable checks (such as trying to poke your finger through your palm) to convince yourself beyond any doubt that you are dreaming. |

But any way, i haven't done reality checks as much as i use to in the past, but the main one that i do is looking at my hands which only failed me once, the finger through the hand worked for me many months ago so i'll try that one if i remember. Maybe i should write that down to reality check, i just wish that i could catch my dream sign because i know its so easy, my main dream sign is my old house in my childhood neighborhood which i dream about at least once a week or every two weeks. Thanks for the tips. |

Maybe it's just fear of the unknown, suddenly realizing you're in an entirely made-up dreamscape, realizing that anything can happen, positive or negative? |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
