First reality check in a dream. Please read...I'm confused.

Two of the Reality Checks I like to do is checking the time and asking myself throughout the day if i'm dreaming. I did write on my hand one day but haven't done it since.

Anyways, the other night I was dreaming, without even trying to LD that night. I didn't try to have a WILD or anything. I just went to sleep normally...Even without practicing my reality checks for a few days. Well anyways, I was in my dream and I tried so hard to find the time, but the time was no where around. No one had cell phones, watches, appliances didn't have any times so I couldn't grab hold of my potential Lucid Dream.

I was so excited when I woke up in the morning because I was so close to LD'ing for the first time.

I would just like to know if anyone has gone through this...

Every one has gone through this but in different ways. Faulty logic is what you experenced it is very common in dreams it is what keeps us oblivious to what is going on in the dream world. "Omg that guy has no head oh yah I heard about that in the news this morning he has some rare disease."
Now think about it now. Right now that your awake you don't have that faulty logic. Now if you had that same logic you have now in your dream and you couldn't find time anywhere wouldn't you just check if it was a dream some other way? Faulty logic is a major obstacle to lucid dreaming i advise dream checking by looking at your hands and trying to breath though your nose while plugging it. Now if you had a feeling like something wasn't right but you didn't know what it was during your dream that would be considered what i call a layer 1 lucid dream where your not really aware you just have that strange essence but you can't put your finger on it. Usually this is because your body knows your dreaming but your mind doesn't. I hope I helped

Oh yeah. I was climbing this house of cards one day (in my dream, of course), and as I was climbing I started wondering if, maybe, it was a little bit for logical for the whole pile to come crumbling down. I thought it was a bit strange that it didn't, but I kept dismissing it - "Oh, the cards are all glued to cardboard, I see that now," or "Of course [name here] is holding it up at the bottom."

I find it more reliable to check my hands than to check a clock, its easier to find my hands.
