Why cant I get out of my room?

Well I finally got somthing working for me (had a lucid dream every night for like 4 days ) but they all are the same after entering the dream (WILD or dild im always in my room) I try to get out and when I open the door and everything goes black..then im back in my bed..I do a RC and i'm still dreaming..This is getting to be frustating because i will be doing this for 15-20 min til i finally wake up for real?Any suggestions?

Forget the door, just jump through the window. Make sure that you're dreaming first though.

Yeah listen to Levels, he's got the right idea. In a lucid i had before, i wanted to go outside, i was in my room. Instead of leaving my room, going down the hallway, and going out the front or back door; i jumped through the window. In another dream, i was in a house that i had never been in before and i wanted to get outside. I flew through the roof. If you want to go outside, most of the time, it's faster to fly through the roof or a window. Plus it's a lot more fun than using a door.

I've seem many of these questions. The multiple answers I have seen include the jumping out the window, way. Or you could close your eyes, visualize where you want to go, and teleport there. Best of luck, hope you get around this obstacle!

I disadvise closing your eyes. When I open them back up, I open them in waking life.

I go into the open space in my room then walk through my wall.

Try sticking your arm outward, so that your arm and hand are within your line of sight in the dream. Then, visualize where you want to go, and start spinning!

First off, congrats on having a lucid 4 nights in a row!

I'd try what the other members have suggested (going through a window, visualizing, etc) but try to stabilize the dream before you try to leave your room.

      Good luck!

Did you try the windows? I almost never use my door when I WILD. Just go straight for the windows. I push my hands through the glass and the rest of my body follows suit pretty easily. And if that doesn't work, try putting your back to the glass and falling through it backwards.

Or you can try going through the doors or walls in the same way, but I find windows easier because I can already see what's on the other side.

All my lucid dreams start in my room, either from false awakenings, or becoming lucid while being in my room in the dream. And I ALWAYS walk through the door (no, I don't open it, I WALK through it). I don't know why I always do this, I just know I do it

I tried walking through windows and walls and spinning to teleport last night. Spinning did nothing, and all I did was run into the walls/windows. Which hurt cause i didn't do anything to stop myself.

Doors are evil. So are portals where you can't see the destination.

You have to really believe you will go through the wall or else it won't work.

      UUGH
I had a similar thing happen to me last night!!
I had 3 Ld's last night, the first 2 were WILD, but for some reason the dream was really messy, like my body dream was really hard to control, and it felt like if I was drunk (Couldn't keep myself standing straight), it was almost impossible to stabilize it. When ever I walked out of my room, about 5 seconds to 1 minutes of being outside of my room I would have a False awakening, and I would have to try and stabilize it again :@

I do this all the time but the door always leads to blackness.

That should make it more likely. Not 100% though.

Walking through a door and expecting something behind is harder than it sounds actually.
All my lucid dreams start in my bedroom, and 3 times I have tried to see pandora behind my door, I have shouted it, imagined it, but as soon as I open the door, I lose hope, and it isn't there. Yesterday was as close as I've been to achieving this, I was going to open the door and I shouted "THIS IS A DREAM, PANDORA IS BEHIND THIS DOOR" A white flash comes from under the door, and I slam the door open, but nothing, it was just my house.

Before you go to bed at night, make a point of walking through your door, or looking out your window. Either walk the path you will take to get out of your room, or visualize yourself doing it. Sort of like a dry run. Then, when you find yourself in the dream, just try to remember what it feels like to open that door and walk out. It is sometimes easier to remember than it is to visualize.

I dont have a mirror in my room, but this is on my list of things to do.

Also, i took my own advice and jumped through the window instead of using the door yesterday in a lucid, it was weird, felt like the window was made of water.
