      Lucid at End of REM

Well i just had my second lucid dream so not a ton of experience but i expected to be able to last maybe a little longer than my first before i woke up. instead it went from 15 seconds to 5 seconds. I know getting excited can wake me up so i tried rubbing my hands but everything immediately began blurring after realization of being dreaming. The thing is both times i became lucid were very far into the dreams, and from what i remember about similar dreams they were at points where it seemed like the dream was about ready to end anyways. Is it possible that i'm waking up cuz my REM cycle is coming to and end or do i just need more practice, or maybe a bit of both?
      DILDs [2]
      Length: 15 and 5 seconds

If you were looking for some cool secret message then I'm sorry, because you just wasted precious seconds of your life that you will never get back. ='(

The same thing happened to me the first 2-3 times, your just gonna have to keep trying and after a while u'll get better at it. Nothing to worry about unless it would happen everytime. and it could be a bit of both since i think u got more chance on becoming lucid at the end of your REM cycle since your getting more concious then. I think my first time lasted like 10 seconds and second time around a minute or 2.

lol'd at same amount of posts

I don't think it all has to do with getting excited. Because when i first started about a year ago i didn't even get excited i was calm but i still would wake up for the first few lucids. It's just not common for that to happend so i think your mind wakes you up. But after a few lucids your subconsious gets used to it and you don't wake up anymore. But thats just my theory though so i don't know if thats the case or not.

There's your man, I believe asserting control that you're going to stay into the dream.. or at least have some grip on the dream will also help.. because LUCIDs..... well your head just isn't used to them yet, but remember when you're dreaming, you can do EVERYTHING.... yes saying it like that is no fun... but imagine yourself touching something feeling something.... and it should distract you from waking up.
