some control, could this be a step towards LD?

Last night I dreamed my dog had run away and I was looking all over for him.
As such, at one point I saw some small houses perched atop a cliff, where he might have been in. I scaled the cliff and when I got by the house the people inside me starting shooting at me, or I heard a bark inside, I don't recall for sure.
I started to remove the screen door , then the door and the wall of the house. The dog was not inside, so I decided to jump off the cliff knowing nothing would happen to me. And nothing did, I just landed in the grass with a small bounce, no pain.

I think the fact that I knew I would not be hurt stems from reading the forums here, though I was not aware I was dreaming. I wonder if anyone has experienced feelings of invincibility and unusual strength while on their quest for lucid dreaming?

      Thats interesting.
I once had a dream where I wasn't lucid yet I thought to myself "oh no, in dreams elevators brake a lot, I better not go in it". Somehow, I knew it was a dream but I didn't think I was asleep. 0_o

I've never really not feared getting hurt I don't think. But like everytime I fall a long distance, I'm never scared. I usually just hit the ground and get up and say, "Damn.. I'm still alive heh.."

Interesting dream! Yup, I had the feeling of power too. I walked right up to the bishop and demanded to be made a priest in spite of knowing full well that I had committed all the sins in the world. And the bishop actually ordained me and bowed before me. I remember walking away triumphantly. I still can't forget this dream. I am an ex Christian; so don't know why I dreamed such a thing.

Ah, this happens all the time to me in dreams that start to turn into nightmares. Usually I realize the absurdity of it though and "pull out of the situation", so to speak.

I get this once in a while. Maybe not so much being invincible but when I see something maybe a little too unusual, I'll say something like "that's not real, it's fake" but I wouldn't become lucid or anything.

Like one time I was at my old house and I looked in the sky to the east. I saw this huge flying saucer that was flashing some green lights or whatever. Instead of being scared, I just went up to my girlfriend and I was like, "hey you see that thing? It's totally fake/it's not real".

I think this comes from being aware during the day and looking out for things that are unusual. I'm suppose to reality check if I do see anything weird though but I would forget to do it in the dream.
