Cool Why do you want to control your dreams?

Ok, So most of you like to control your dreams while being lucid or having a normal dream. I was wondering, What makes you want to control your dream? And why do you want to control your dream? Do you ever had any success in controlling your dreams? What techniques do you use and what kind of powers do you use in your dreams?

What makes you want to control your dream? And why do you want to control your dream?

It's just an awesome feeling to know you were able to control something. I, and people in general, like that power. You can make it the way that your consious self wants it to be, and often the process of trying to control something is enjoyable

Do you ever had any success in controlling your dreams?

Yes, yes I do . I still am not perfect though, but I often have my ways of mixing it up, to try to get what I want to work in a different way. Sometimes, you have to avert from active control to passive, AKA the easier control. This often works.

What techniques do you use and what kind of powers do you use in your dreams?

Anyone who's read my DJ would know that I often use my "magic hand" and "magic finger". It's basically that I move my hands to do something, but I don't touch it. I've simply moved stuff before with it (yeah, sorta just like telekinesis, but this is my way TO DO it), I've shot bubble gum out of my hand before, and even dough. I also fixed drapes for an old lady DC (she then helped ME out). I also do the flying and teleporting, the normal stuff. OH, and sometimes I control DC's minds just by thinking of what I want them to do.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

It's a good question to ask.

There are serveral reasons to seek control over (lucid) dreams. The foremots reason in my eyes is to overcome troubling nightmares. Some people really suffer from reoccuring, absolutely horrifying nightmares and they can change this with dream control so they dare to sleep and dream again.

Another solid reason is to explore the mind and it's properties.
Also a good reason (for me personally) is to practice and enhance creativity. A dream is a matrix-like creation. An entirely self-created reality. Much like creating a painting or a song, except this time you can reshape everything from the whole enviroment to the people you're with and even to abstract feelings/emotions.

Becomming aware of how we create reality is also a parallel to becoming enlightened in waking life. Dreamcontrol means you are aware of the true nature of your reality.

For me personally the reason i want to control my dreams is because when i'm in control, i know i'm lucid. When i'm not in control i know i'm not lucid because when i'm not in control i always think the dream is real.

I want to control my dreams for a lot of reasons.

      1) It's fun (duh) and really good for making the next day feel better then it was. And besides, we spend like 6 years dreaming, why not make the most of it?

2)Creativity: I make music. Not professionally, but it makes me happy, it's a hobby of mine. Like lucid dreaming, but here that's everyone's hobby Lucid Dreaming, and come occasional hallucinations when I'm half awake, help that

      3) Self-Discovery: Come on, would you rather spend a few hundred on hypnosis, or just delve right into you're subconsciousness yourself?

      4) Maybe sex in my dreams can actually keep me from doing it in real life until I really think I'm ready Oh yeah, and trying illegal crap. But who doesn't do illegal stuff in our LDs?

      5) Because NO ONE COULD STOP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
