Why wont my dream control work?

I've been noticing that I've been dreaming lately. Ok for starters. I had a dream about being at High School last night. I was out side with a bunch of kids, and girls. It looked realistic. So when I was out side, I tried focusing in my hand to do a perfect Kamehameha. To impress the girls. All I got was nothing. Like it failed to work. Then I tried bending fire out of my hands. Then fire came out like daggers and it burned my hands. Now I don't know why the Kamehameha didn't work but the fire bending did? What am I doing wrong? I've been having full control of my dreams lately but failed to control them. Sometimes they work, And sometimes they don't. I look, think, and try to focus but I haven't accomplish anything yet. Usually all I get is a bunch of gas or something that comes out of my hands like it says poof.

You can try not putting as much effort into focusing. Instead, try to just let it flow out like you've known how to do it forever. You can also try to say it verbally, but I don't know if you've already tried that.

Instead of focusing on your hand to do a Kamehameha, just imagine it appearing, like knowing that it's GOING to appear. Maybe that's what you did with the daggers? It's more passive control. 'Willing' doesn't work as much as 'expecting', in my opinion.

Cool I'll give it a try the next time. Another question. Why could I felt the flaming daggers burning my hand?

It's very possible, and uncommon, to feel pain, burning sensations, etc. while in a dream. I've had my share of these feelings.
