      Manipulation Questions

I was wondering about flying and light control. My first question is, what is the best way to begin flying using passive control. My second question is, when controlling lighting in a dream and it barely makes a difference, do I just keep trying until it makes a large difference, or what?

      All Help Accepted, thx Dextro.

You only fail when you give up. If one thing doesnt work, try something else. It can be helpful to reframe your goal in a different context. If you can't increase the light, give yourself night vision.

Thx, I didnt think about that lol, that was actually some decent advice. You seem fairly knowledgable about LD's, I was wondering, what is your personal way of lengthening a LD?

      thx, dextro.

Stay detached from the dream plot, and don't allow yourself to get too distracted. It also helps to have clear goals you want to accomplish in the dream. If a DC starts talking to you, ignore them, they are just a distraction.

I've found the every time I lose lucidity, it's because I start going along with the dream like it was real. I become too involved in the plot. Flying is actually a really bad one for me. Seems like every time I start flying, that's the end of my lucidity. For a long while I stopped flying all together just because it was almost guaranteed to end my lucidity prematurely.

Even though this is still flying, would using a jetpack to fly still cause the dream to end prematurely?

As for flying: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. This morning i had an LD in which it didnt work. I managed to float to the ground instead )i jumped of a balcony on the first floor). And when i was there i decided to walk instead. If it doesn't work, don't force it.

As for lightlevels: What works great for me, if i start a LD in which it is dark, is wishing it will become morning. Works like a charm. In a few seconds morning breaks. Though many times there is no sun strange enough, but hey, at least its light. Wishing works very well, but watch out for what you wish. Being morning is something your brain understands, but wishing yourself a flashlight might get you a problem if you flip the switch. That rarely works.
