Well, I had my second lucid dream last night. I used the MILD method, and I found it very helpful. I'm not experienced yet, and I am still experimenting with other methods, if that matters. Anyways, I changed the scenario to my local mall. I realized it didn't have any escalators or anything to get to the lower level, so I summoned some stairs. On the lower floor of the mall, I was looking at stores, stealing, haha. Anyways, I thought, hmm... I'll try to summon some of my friends, and my girlfriend. I tried and I tried, but couldn't. I got bored so I woke myself up. Any help?

Do it the same way you summoned the stairs

It's way too hard though. I tried imagining them being behind me, I turned around and all there was was a crowd full of people, except for the person I tried summoning.

You can't really "summon" a person to appear right in front of you or something in an LD. At least, not from my experiences and most other's experiences. Next time, try going into different stores to look for the person. Look behind doors, in closets, around corners. They are always hiding somewhere. I don't know why this is...but...it is. Heh.

This may sound stupid, but try using a magic wand. Next time you're lucid, just reach into your jacket or pocket and pull out the wand. I find that exerting control over my environment is easier when I have a projection of myself that is "magical", and the wand will do the work for you.

edit: hehe Nina, we posted at the same time!

Are there any other techniques to summon people? And if I ever do get to summon someone, will it just be a random person, or like, can I modify them to look how I want them to look?

Ok... time for a long winded theory as to why people are harder to summon.
People are multi-faceted. Meaning, they have their looks and personality. Its hard for your mind to just create personality out of thin air... thus, you need to be creative, its easier for you mind to just say, this personality came into play by "magic"... or, it was there, just in another room, or behind your back.

Once you get good enough, you can summon the person right in front of you without closing your eyes or looking away. It's pretty trippy

I like Burn's method. The only problem is if you can't find any magical wand. Then I guess you will have to try again and this time KNOWING that there is a magical wand in your pocket. Experience how it will feel like before you actually touch it. Percieve and believe and you will succeed

Try looking for that person in places you would normally find them. That usually always work for me.

If youre not in a place they would usually be, then find one.

When I feel the need to manifest someone in particular, I just will them to come, and they'll come. It's easier if they have a means of entrance that makes logical sense, although some means of manifestation can border on the paranormal (as far as paranormal applies to anything in this situation). I find it easiest to turn around, and think to myself, This person will be behind me when I turn back around, and it will (hopefully) be so.

I beleive in my opinion you can summon things. Last night I realised I was lucid, and was in the city. I was by myself and I looked at myself and I was in the clothes I was wearing in bed wich where still okay to be out in the city with.

Im beating around the bush here, but the point is I opened my wallet and willed there to be 100 bucks in there and there was, I took a cab in all lucidity and said take me to the nearest club im getting drunk and hitting up the dancefloor! Im so up for that in real life that thats why my dreams revolve around clubs n stuff.

I've had trouble summoning people too, I can't do it face to face usually and sometimes summoning behind me doesn't work, so I tend to just summon them by looking for them inside a building or around a corner not 'thinking' that they'll be there but knowing that they'll be there, sometimes I even make up reasons as to why they'd be there if I ever start to doubt myself so the doubt just goes away.

A few nights ago I tried the "expect-the-person-to-be-around-the-corner-method" but when I looked around I didn't get what I wanted... instead a little random girl scared the shit out of me

I just will people to appear, and they appear; I don't know if there's any trick to it. I think that it really just matters if you believe that you can do it. If you think it's hard, then it will be. Just like LDing in general

As someone said, it is difficult to make one appear right in front of you. I would reccomend thinknig about who you'd like to summon, imagine them around a corner or behind a door, and then go look for them. This works for some reason to my knowledge.

Good luck

OK, here's the real deal. To summon people.... if you know how to talk in your dreams you're in good shape. Recite the words (say the persons first and last name) followed by "Come onto Me". It works, believe me. I've been doing dream control for over 10 years now!
(Note: Talking in your dreams might cause you to talk in your sleep for the real people to hear)

Be extremely wary of anyone who tells you that he can "control" his dreams. Just to HAVE a lucid dream and not to wake up very quickly when you DO have one, is a rare event.

The best you can do in a dream is to control your own actions.

I can't imagine why people want to go online and anonymously b.s. other people about this, but they do.

Sorry for resurrecting that thread, but I've got a problem with that as well.
It's extremely hard for me to summon persons or characters, depending on what it is or how it looks it might become even harder. It almost never works. I'll just have to practice more, but then I have this weird obsession with wanting things that outrun my skills, lets say, a dragon? a spacecraft? A Transformer?

How do you do THAT?

Well, in that case, just read up! Great advice there.
If you are lazy like me, then short version:
Try using a magic wand
Try going somewhere and expecting them to be there
Try using magic in general.

I have trouble summoning people too, but Aquanina's suggestion is a good one. In a mall scenario like the one you described, I would suggest going to stores that your girlfriend is likely to frequent.

Reliable dream control comes from stable well established archetypes, so for instance if your girlfriend's favorite store was the Gap or a certain shoe store, the odds of finding here there would be very good. If I wanted to find my father at the mall, I'd look in the Cinnabon store, because I know he can't go by that place without stopping there. Of course it doesn't matter if it really is his favorite place, as long as I think it is, then I can use that connection or link.

summon people

What I do to summon people is reaching behind my back to grab the hand of the person I want and then pulling him/her in front of me. It usually takes some tries until I get it right, but it works for me.

I've planned out meetings with DCs while I was awake, writing down the circumstances of the meeting. When I entered the dream and portalled to the location, they just appeared while I wasn't looking at them.

I think that this is a very useful strategy for someone struggling with dream control. Write out the scenario and daydream about it throughout the day. Chances are you'll program yourself with this dream to the extent that you'll actually have it.

That's step one. It gets easier to exert control over your dreams as you work on it, and you'll be able to skip this step and do whatever you want to while you're lucid.

I'm sorry for replying to a very old, very banned member's post, but was he seriously making the assertion that we're all liars? I understand skepticism, but wow.

I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.

I can summon people, but they don't always appear how I expect them to. Sometimes they're distorted, or warped. Of course, there is another way around it - teleport to them. I find this works WAY better. But then I find teleportation the easiest thing in LDs.

And as for the person who said they planned a meeting with a DC and all the details, then it happened - love that idea. May have to try that. Sounds awesome!
