IMO it would differ between people. Some people can hold onto dreams very strongly and others not so much. |

So we all know that getting over exited in a LD will wake you up, but what I want to know is how excited do you need to get to wake up? |

"Dont drink six beers at the same time?...BRILLIANT!"
For me, a fast heart beat is all it takes to wake me up. It's strange though since when you have nightmares, you can be as excited as you want and you just won't wake up. |

I always seem to wake up within something like 20 seconds of becoming lucid. |

It differs from dream to dream. I've had times where I couldn't wake up if wanted to on purpose, and I've had times where I've woken up during stabilization. |

I dunno, I can get pretty excited in dreams, if I feel my dreams is starting to fade i have to freeze, calm down and the dream comes back |

I've had a dream not so long ago about me having to carry an important mission to term, i had to save someone's life. I became lucid almost immediately after the beginning of the dream. Knowing someone's life depends entirely on you is obviously very exciting, but no matter how excited i was, i still didn't wake up. Though if i had gone all "yay i'm lucid dreaming, i can do whatever i want to with this dream" and started dancing around in circles or completely sabotaged the mission, i probably would have woken up. |

Thanks everyone for the tips, and thanks Akono for fixing the title |

I had a dream this morning DILD. I got so excited that I freaked like a kangaroo on drugs, by that I mean, really jumped up and down and talked to one DC telling him, I was dreaming and how cool it is and was really really enthusiastic. |
|
Getting too excited is a big problem for many of us i'm sure, especially if you don't get many LD's in the first place like myself. My main concern when I'm on the cusp of getting lucid is to either do an RC ASAP or if I'm really convinced i'm lucid right there and then is to start stabilising the dream scene straight away. |

I think that you can get more excited the more used you get to the whole "knowing that you're dreaming" thing. My first lucid dreams were only a few seconds. I thought many people got the same feeling when they were just about to wake up. This was before I knew what lucid dreaming was. Turns out it's not as usual as I thought. |

Remember. Nothing is true and everything is permitted.
Sometimes when I become lucid, and really lucid, I freak out and jump and shout 'woohoo!' But I don't wake up, it's probably because just an explanation and not as much a feeling. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
