I usually command 'stabilization now' or 'clarity now'.
When my dream starts to fade my sense of touch is all that's left.
I have my own technique that doesn't use any of those things. I had a really great way to explain it awhile back, but I didn't write it down, so now I'm stuck saying it's really difficult to explain. :-/
Mzzkc, please explain, I want to hear what you have to say!!
^^I agree. Now that I'm able to lucid more frequently, dream control is a huge priority.
Explain the method to your madness! =D
peace,

I'm letting you know straight up that this method only serves to quickly and reliably stabilize a dream, as a result it generally makes the overall quality pretty crappy.
I don't know if any of you are familiar with the Wheel of Time series, but my technique draws from a training exercise taught to the 'main' character early on. The exercise consisted of envisioning a flame and pouring all thought and emotions into it until the mind was clear from distraction, or something like that, it's been awhile since I've actually read it. Anywho, my method is like that, but in reverse. Instead of envisioning something within my mind, I use my surroundings as the "flame" and disperse all my thoughts, emotions, and attentions into everything around me all at once. The result is a clear head and a stabilized dream.
Now, that's what I do. I'll be damned if I can explain how to actually go about doing it. It's a combination of attention, awareness, and focus that you have to work in just the right way. But that's really all I can convey in words. . .
It was a toss up for me between "Staring at something" and "using the 5 senses" so I chose the one I use first.
When I initially beomce lucid, I stare at something (usually my hands). But as I'm going along in the dream, I'm using my 5 senses.
Wow, Mzzkc lol, that is hard for me to elaborate on my own, if I knew the series or whatever you were talking about, I would probably comprehend it better, but for the time being, I know not what you speak of, haha...
I rub my hands together.
