Who else uses a magic wand (or HP physics)?

So in my mainly fruitless attempts at LDing my main problem has traditionally been that while I can attain some level of lucidity, I am unable to actually do anything special. I attribute this to a lack of confidence, but whatever. A few weeks ago, however, I had a dream which went lucid in which I manipulated a few things with a wand, truly HP style.

Since then, I've stumbled into several sloppy dreams which don't reach full blown lucidity, but get pretty close. In them, I've remembered my wand, pulled it out, and used it to mess around with things in the scene. I typically use it to levatate objects.

Does anyone else use a wand? I know some people use cell phones and books for control, but what about wands, or just a full blown adoption of Harry Potter physics (this meaning, of course, a world which follows the rules of the HP world. but you knew that).

I've used a wand in Harry Potter-based non-lucids. The spells are really hard to remember, though, so I usually default back to Force powers.

I think it's a lot easier to forget the spells and the wands and just use telekinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. on their own.

I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.

I have never used a wand because I have near perfect controll in my lucids. I think a wand can be good or bad. It is a dream tool (eww new term) since you use it only in dreams it is logical to reach for it when you become lucid. In some ways a tool could be scene as a crutch if, it got to the point were even if you become lucid a lot you cannot do anything without it.

A way around it could be this. I don't know weather you use verbal commands or not but if you do I have an idea. Use your verbal commands untill you have longer more stable lucids and then do like Harry potter and think the commands. I'm sure he can do this because he summons things without his wand (correct me if I'm wrong) Then after a while of just thinking it ditch the wand.

unless of course it works for you and doesn't slow you down then don't switch.

I tried using a magic wand before. I managed to make the wand appear- nothing else. Probably because the wand was a little gimmecky, you know, the plastic wands in magic kits. I since discovered that I don't need a wand as I am quite good at dream control.

It's interesting the way I began using the wand; it certainly wasn't on purpose, it just fit into a dream. Now it just seems most logical to pull it from my pocket. It's always there.

I actually haven't had to mess with any spells, which is one way in which my wand wielding is different I suppose. I just think it and direct with the wand.

In truth, though, I am a bit concerned that it may become a crutch.

That's one of my goals, actually. I'd love to be able to have consistent lucid dreams and be able to use a Harry Potter wand in them.

This sounds really nerdy, but I kinda want to memorize all the Harry Potter spells so I can use them perfectly in dreams. It would be a crazy awesome tool to carry around each lucid dream.

I would take advantage of it and learn to control it...who knows might might become a dream sign or even your "thing"...imagine if you got good with it?

I once used a wand and some basic HP spells to duel Voldemort.

Turns out, all you have to do to win one of those is spam spells at ludicrous speeds. There really isn't anything the other guy can do about it besides block them until one eventually gets through, and at that point it's game over. XD

I don't use a magic wand, but I do use my "magic hand" which I use like a wand . For levitating stuff, and squirting things out of it (gum to stop my enemy (I'm not violent) and to squirt dough out of it- I was making muffins!).
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

Yeah I've used a wand in a couple of dreams, one lucid. For me, it's a way of actually achieving passive control rather than active control because it makes impossible things like telekenisis more believable via the spell 'accio' - things that I have read about and attempted to visualise/seen in films are easier to pull off while lucid for me It's something I'd like to explore more too.

Also, some concepts in Harry Potter are quite relevant to lucid dreaming, e.g. the patronus, as mentioned in the post above. The idea of having to concentrate on a happy memory to create a protective beam of white light/animal creature to ward off a dark, evil thing sounds like trying to positively take control of your environment. I would love to try the patronus charm in a lucid dream if there was something or someone that unsettled me - it seems unviolent and effective

Does that mean I've been eating Dementors?
