      16 December 2011 - A Dream Within a Dream... Neat!

I had this dream after a WBTB. During the parts of this dream where I was dreaming about being on my futon trying to sleep I had thought this was real. Once I woke up, I went "wait, what? That whole thing was one dream!"

I didn't actually become lucid during this dream. I just dreamed about becoming lucid within a dream.

What I really think sets this apart from other dreams I've had is just the sheer vividness it had. Almost like the WILD attempts I've made in the past.

Another great part of this dream was the similarity of the following bit of dialogue to the movie Inception and to an episode of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Surprised by the prospect of speaking to AI, I told them:
"You're just a machine. Think about it: how did you get here? You just appeared out of nowhere and into the video game. All your memories from before you were here are hollow, false, manufactured. You have nothing!"
One of the AIs replied to me "How do I know you're not the machine? Where did you come from, how did you get here? See, your memories are just as real as mine."
Note that I don't actually believe it's possible to dream within a dream. Rather, it's just a change in dream scenery from sleeping, to a dream, and then a false awakening to where I started.

      Dream about Dreaming
When I awoke from this dream I was very confused. While in this dream, I was dreaming and my friends were there for some reason.

I was in some sort of version of my room with a few of my friends. I fell asleep on the futon, and found myself with my friends in the same zombie apocalypse building from my previous dream, only this time there were no zombie apocalypses. We were actually headed to the new Full Metal Alchemist game simulator. This game was the first video game to become a real simulation with AI and holograms.

We walked in through a long hallway, whilst talking about the Full Metal Alchemist video game. I wanted to tell them that I had played the full metal alchemist video game and had beaten it, but one of my friends kept explaining how that game was exactly the same as another game that came after it and was showing us the animation from both games to prove it. Somebody had just taken the fullmetal alchemist game and painted new characters overtop the old one.

My friends stopped at the door, and the door closed behind me. I was in the simulation chamber. My friends walked back down the hallway, and I found some small windows into the hallway and tried to get their attention. I wanted to tell them that I played the Full Metal Alchemist video game before and it was really good.

This is where the dream gets weird. Never-mind the dreams within dreams thing.
I eventually gave up. So I walked toward the holograms in the room (this was the same building I started in during the zombie apocalypse) and started speaking to them.

I paused to think. "Of course, I am playing a video game. I walked here with my friends. We came from down that hallway."
That's when I realized that there was nothing before that. I was dreaming.

The scene went dim, and for a while there was nothingness.

I woke up, but I found myself in sleep paralysis and couldn't move. My legs fell off the futon, because I couldn't move them. I wanted to get back onto the futon but I slowly fell off. One of my friends jumped onto my futon and put her laptop on my pillow, exclaiming "Mine now!" and I couldn't even stop her.

Eventually I freed myself from sleep paralysis.
Finally, I woke up for real. (I checked)

The dream is a little hidden door in the innermost and most secret recesses of the soul, opening into that cosmic night which was psyche long before there was any ego consciousness,
