      Dream Visitor

      This was years ago, and in my dream I was sleeping next to my wife, and in fact that was just where I was.
      In the dream I opened my eyes and looked up and there was this plant pot hook attached to the
      ceiling above our bed. I saw it and closed my eyes again. Next time I opened them there was
      this shirt hanging peacefully on a clothes hanger on the plant hook. Nothing more. The third time that I looked the shirt was gently twirling on it's hanger, and there was the sound of the hanger hitting and gently clanging on something. It spun more and I could see a pair of eyes above the shirt which was hour glass shaped, it belonged to a woman.

      So I knew that it was some kind of being and I asked it who it was and it answered so softly that I only
      could hear it by not breathing for a few seconds. It said "Alice". Now Alice was my wife's deceased mother,
      who I had never met. A ghost? My blood ran cold, and large goose bumps were on my arm as I got up
      from the bed to go to work. Did it really happen?

      I have had night mares, but nothing that scared me like this dream.

      There is nothing to be scared about with a ghost, or anybody who is dead in a dream, even if it is somebody you have never met. Depending on where your spiritual beliefs are, the ghost was likely something innocent such as trying to contact your wife to say hello to her in a dream.
      You didn't mention that she was particularly aggressive or frightening in the way she looked. (Though the way she made her way into the room was a tad creepy.) But you stated that you never met your mother in law IWL, so this could have just been a random dream character who you thought was Alice. (It could have been your dream guide for all you know.) The point is there isn't really anything to be afraid of in this dream.

      Thank you JadeGreen,

      Yes, there seems little to be afraid of in this dream, and I am someone who has often dreamed of the dead and
      other very unusual topics, and even once had a near death experience...but for some reason this dream
      really scared me at the time. Don't think I was ever so scared.

      Why? I think that perhaps this really happened and was not just a dream.
