      Kleptomania in dreams...?

Okay, so this is something that has recently been ongoing and very odd for me.

Lately over the past 2 weeks I've been having dreams where I'm stealing merchandise from stores and getting away with it.

I have never stolen from a store in real life, nor have I ever exactly wanted to.

I went to an anime convention around July 8th, and there my friend's girlfriend stole a corset..I was amazed, honestly.

Then a week later I had a dream I was at the same convention center and I stole little bits of merchandise. I didn't get caught.

Two days later I had a dream I was at the convention center again and I stole more and was a little more daring. I never got caught.

Yet again, more like 5 days later I dreamt that I was at the same convention center (the floorplan of the place was different every time) and I had stolen much more, and there was a security gate at the exit- it started beeping like crazy when I passed through and I managed to get in a car and speed away without getting caught again.

Now just last night I had a dream I was at Wal-Mart (wow, a different place) and I dreamt that I was buying some things. I saw a bag of dice (like, RPG dice) and I had a strange urge to steal it, it was something that was very hard to control. Eventually I planned to empty the bag into my sweatshirt pockets and that way it couldn't be traced. Except when I was doing it I was clumsy and I didn't notice the surveillance cameras, a LOT of them above my aisle. A security guy came and reprimanded me but I still managed to leave with half the dice.

Why do I keep dreaming about being such a klepto?! I think maybe it's because I was amazed at how my friend's girlfriend could do it, but why would I keep dreaming obsessively about it? I'm scared the urge to steal is going to pass over into the real world...

Perhaps the guilt is by association. Follow the chain of identites in reasoning, and see if you end up a theif. Worth a try.

Or, perhaps clarify what theft is, and see if in some way you do practice it, but are unaware of it.

The desire for that which we have not created, or labored for by our own hands, is natural for a child, but as awareness dawns upon one, something they learn to overcome through self-confidence and ability.

One of the ways to stimulate understanding by standards in thought, is by chosing from a set that one which you react to well--theft. The next step is to irritate you into understanding the base idea, so that you can see other members of the same set which you do not react to, you have not learned to see them.

On this note: Is it possible to steal and not commit murder? Is it possible to lie and not steal? etc.

Pursue it until you can see the first principles of human will. A wise man once stated it in one sentence.

Well, some people have no idea, I just got a few jars short of traking 'em all.

And yes, there is knowledge of somethings that would shake a sane man to his knees in disbelief.
