The first nightmare I've recalled in years. And I don't like it one bit.

For years I've told people that I don't have nightmares, and if I did I didn't recall them at all. The last nightmare I could recall before last night was one I had when I was 4. It seems silly when I think about it now. I was in a car alone, speeding down a highway. I was in the middle of the back seat of the car. Around me I saw my family members faces laughing at me. I was crying in my dream. It seems ridiculous, but back then it scared me and has had a huge impact on my life. I'm now afraid of cars and still get paranoid when I go on the highway.

But the dream I had last night was different.

I was in this weird pool area. There was 3 pools. I was with my aunt, cousins, some weird guy who said he built the pools and I THOUGHT my friend Christina was there, but she wasn't. Pokemon music was playing. The guy asked us to come swim because he made this pool. I was nervous since it looked kind of dirty.

I jumped in anyways though, plugging my nose and shutting my eyes closed-- very tight. When I got in, there was spiderwebs all around the pool. There was a few spiders in the pool and a giant snake, which scared the crap out of me (I usually likes snakes though, so I find this odd). I started to scream and the guy and my cousins called me a wuss. I was really angry. I jumped out of the pool and said I was going back home.

Then I ran out of the..pool place, and down this really gray looking area. No one was on the streets but me. EVERYTHING was a gray tone. It was really creepy. I kept running, but stopped at this creepy looking grocery store. I looked around in there for a bit-- the few people that were in there stared at me, it was creepy but my dream self didn't pay much attention to it.

Then it switched to me being in this house trying to get asleep. I was home alone, and was apparently at my aunt and uncles even though it didn't look like it one bit. I was in a bedroom with 2 single beds. The beds were a darkish red color. Suddenly I shot up in my (dream) bed and thought "Did I lock the doors?"

I guess like my real self, my dream self is extremely paranoid about things, though I can never even THINK of going to bed when I'm home alone and it's late at night.

So back to my dream..I crawled out of my bed and stumbled on to the floor. For some reason, I could barely move. I grabbed objects around me to be able to pull myself along the floor. I heard weird noises, so I called out "Is anyone there?"...or at least tried to. My voice was gibberish, and really deep. I couldn't talk properly. I still heard people (with demonic voices, may I add) calling out. I could hear my name being called out a few times.

I kept dragging myself along the floor. When I got out of the bedroom, I was in a dark hallway. I felt around for the walls around me and tried to stand up. I stood up, but my legs were very shaky and I felt really week. Struggling, I used the wall to make my way over into a larger room, where I saw the door. Which was open. Suddenly I had my strength back and ran over to the door, slamming it shut and fiddling with the lock to lock it. I had my voice back now, too, and I screamed out again and asked if anyone was there.

I heard more whispering, demonic voices, and my name being called out. I ran around the room looking for a light switch. I was really scared, and I was crying. When I finally found a light switch it was very dim, and I still couldn't see well. I heard a banging noise and turned around and saw some strange dark figure at the door, trying to get in. I screamed (a very angry scream) and ran over to the door and started punching it. I screamed stuff like "GET THE FUCK AWAY" and "GO AWAY YOU BASTARDS"

When the figure went away, I saw other dark figures outside walking towards the house. I kept screaming for them to go away. I still heard the demonic voices. I still heard people with those demonic voices calling my name. I kept screaming. I punched walls, furniture, whatever was around me. I kept destroying everything. I'm pretty sure in dream I was going crazy. I was terrified and confused. I couldn't stop screaming and crying. Finally I heard a voice telling me to go downstairs. Breathing heavily I looked over to my right. I saw a staircase leading to the basement.

My strength was gone again. Dragging myself along the floor I struggled to get over to the staircase. When I got there, I attempted to go down on my hands and knees very slowly, but missed a step with my left hand and tumbled down the stairs. My left arm was all bent out of shape. I think it was broken. Of course, I started screaming again as the demonic voices kept calling out to me. I curled up in a ball with my left arm hanging out. I could feel people pushing me.

I had my strength again, jumped up (my arm was suddenly fixed?) and screamed "FUCK OFF YOU BASTARDS"

Then I woke up.


Please, this has been bothering me the whole day and I can't stop thinking about it. It was such a horrifying experience, especially since it was the most vivid dream I've ever had. I just need to know what it could possibly mean.

This is what I've come up with so far, but I'm not very experienced in dream interpreting..I actually suck.

-It's because of my social anxiety disorder. I have trouble interacting with people.

-It's because of my fear of people-- I'm always afraid someone is going to harm me when I leave my home, so I pay close attention to my surroundings.

I just really don't know.

Um, try doing something about being so paranoid. If you get too paranoid the stress is really hard on you, and it causes nightmares occasionally. I'm not really sure if the dream meant anything, but just really try to be less paranoid and afraid during your waking life. Don't be dumb about things, but don't be too afraid to do anything.

The whole dream is a symbolic message about a large amount of negative thoughts, emotions, and habits you have. A lot dark repressed stuff you need to begin confronting and overcoming in your waking life. The pool represents all your unconscious negativity that you are leisurely "swimming" in. The dirty water represents the dirty state of your mind.

The cobwebs around pool either represent a very long time since you've bothered to deal with any of it, or they are the traps you set for yourself that stop you from ever bothering to deal with your problems.

The spiders are negative thoughts you have that trap you and prevent you from being a more positive and balanced person. They keep you from being a lot happier and fulfilled.

Beds in dreams represent issues you are mentally "sleeping" over. Things you don't want to deal with, wake up from, or just make excuses to keep yourself from dealing with them.

The red color of the bed represents negativity and negative energy associated with these issues you don't want to deal with, or that you live in denial about.

The demonic voices are symbols for very negative thoughts that haunt you, or taunt you. You could have fears or desires that never want you to do anything, or really hold you back in life.

A dream like this is telling you that it's time to begin to process all your negativity. You want to stand up to fear whenever you feel it, resist desire for attractive people and material things, and to respect and understand all people even if you don't like them. If you can do this then dreams like this will just go away.

daeryk, thank you. That perfectly makes sense to me now. I have a lot of negative thoughts and avoid a lot of things, so it makes perfect sense.
