All we do is a product of our mind. Produced because it is functional or not functional.

Plato distinguished the two states as doing what one pleases and doing what one wills.

Will is produced by reason, what we please is not.

Now, it stands to reason that a true soul mate is one whose foundation in reason is the same as yours and yours is true to reality--but how can that be when no one has devoted their life to understanding and teaching reason?

Marriage can only be attained when the human mind reaches a certain degree of functionality. A soul mate is not something that is given by magic, gods, nature or nymphs, but something we attain to by the force of our own will that we have devoted ourselves to attaining.

If a soul mate is something that consumes one, then one must be consumed with being a spirit in truth. It is something we do because it is the essence of what we are. It is something most people cannot do, because they cannot understand--it does not drive them and it never will.

Love is all the things that people do together to maintain and promote their life. The same definition as every environmental acquisition system of a living organism--even the mind. The mind cannot do this, unless it functions in truth. Therefore, the greatests love can only be attained by a spirit who stands in the greatest truth.

Truth is the state of being true. Two or more things are said to be true, when by some means of measure, no difference is found in the measures. The mind works via language. Therefore, there must be no difference between perception and conception in order that there be no difference between conception and will.

Or in a metaphor The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are One. This is what it means to love truth with one's whole body, whole mind and whole soul. What we see, is what we learn to do.

Sorry for the ignorance but does this have anything to do with my dream? If so how? because I really am confused as to what you are trying to say.

Never mind. I see you don't even understand what you posted.
"I should say my husband or the one I was to marry in the dream is a friend of mine who I am very confused as to where we stand. We go back and forth with each other all the time. When we are on nonspeaking terms I feel like I lost my soulmate and lost. I never felt this way about a man before. "

I understand what I wrote because I wrote it, I am not sure what you are trying to say. Again maybe I am not one to look really deep into things, I just think it is weird I can remember such a dream when normally I never do as if something has resonated in my mind and I should really look into it. Thank you for trying and I am sorry I am not understanding you.

Your question was more than about one dream, your question was about the whole understanding of love. And you are right, if you cannot even understand the question you are trying to ask, you cannot even hope to hear the answer. I apologize for taking up your time.

The depth of seeking an answer is the only depth of love you will ever know. And as you said, you don't wish to get deep about it.

Maybe you can help me understand in simple terms so that I can come to some conclusion of why this perticular dream has resonated so deeply in my mind. The reason I came to this site was to find help in trying to understand what my unconscious is trying to tell me

Your "unconciousness" is not different from you such that it is another you or another person. The part of you is not the whole of you. You are confused--and there is no part of you that is different.
And I am afraid that a person who has no inclination to understand how to think and act in truth, will never get far in anything in their life.

I use to think that I could help change such a person, I wasted my life being wrong. I always took what I could get, believing that love was something everyone was capable of. I was badly mistaken. So, I cannot continue with this. It would be pointless.

So in so many words because I am confused I am destined to be alone with no point in life incapable of love? Yea I am very confused about a lot of things that are going on around my life but isnt that why people such as myself go out looking for unbiased answers or solutions? This dream can have nothing to do with love for all I know because I am not an expert in dream interpretation or psychology.

First point. Is it possible that Logic and psychologic are different? Keep in mind that how a thing is understood is not how the thing is.

Does a thing differ from itself because of what it is used for? Does it differ from itself because of where it is used?

Is there anything that can change a thing such that it becomes different from itself? or does identity mean no difference? Unqualified no-difference. Not by time, not by circumstance etc. And if love is forever, what then must one learn if one desires even immortality?

Go back to the definition of true, can any one person ever be loved? Or is love something that has to be made by two? How do we learn to make it? By being devoted to learning how to be true, or by being false? Learn by the definition, and the definition alone to distinguish between your desire and love. Desire comes and goes, love really never dies.

There have been very, very few people in history that had a real understanding of psychology. Plato is the most extensively documented. The reason for logic was to put emotion to the most effective possible use. Why do you think the most passonate people in history have also been the most rational?

You came here for trying to learn how to turn a dream into a reality--love, and I told you the truth, one way of understanding it is impossible, and the other is very hard. You came looking to be loved, which is impossible. Looking for a loving environment, is possible, but it is very difficult to find someone who can provide it. No free lunch. We don't fall into love like blind fools, we build it with our very souls.

This is why I never dated, but have been married 4 times. In the end, a person demonstrates what they mean, with their whole body, mind and soul. No amount of dating is going to reveal a soul. Since it is a quest to do something very right, I simply ask them if they want to get married, have and raise a family as best as we could. If they said yes, then I married, if they said no, then I had no interest in them.

The ability to be loving is always right in front of us, the reason it is so rare is because man does not know the language. No one can know a language before the principles of that language are a resident part of the mind.

The historical claims that emotion and reason are at odds with one another have only said that the mind is different than the mind, when they should have said, virtue is something, like everything else, it is up to us to learn.
