So this is not my dream but it is my girlfriends. she says that she had a dream where I handed her a black & white feather. Just recently also found out that a good friend of ours had a dream where my girlfriend was a cat and was given a feather by an eagle. Just seemed to close to be coincidence. Thanks in advance for any thing that may help with interpretation of the dream.
I don't believe in coincidence. Interesting images. It might help to have more details, but going on the images you've provided. A feather might represent having little weight as in the phrase "light as a feather". The images of the Egyptian concept of the weighing of souls comes to mind. Basically, if I remember correctly, your heart is placed on on side of the scale and a feather on the otherside and if your heart weighs less then the feather you enter paradise.
According to the Egyptian myth the feather represents truth.Quote:
...her (Maat's) primary role in Egyptian mythology dealt with the weighing of souls that took place in the underworld, Duat.[5] Her feather was the measure that determined whether the souls (considered to reside in the heart) of the departed would reach the paradise of afterlife successfully.
Also images of angels which represents a form of spiritual ascension also comes to mind as well.
For me the cat represents balance. Also, based on my personal experience eagles represent vision. I say this because eagles have extraordinary sense of sight.
As an alternative, both cats and eagles represent freedom. I think alot of people associate the eagle with United States which in this case represents freedom. Maybe you are friend is subconsciously making this association. And cats also represent freedom.
So if you want to connect the two dreams, you are the eagle and your girlfriend is the cat. And the common thread is you hand your girlfriend a feather.
Maybe the eagle is handing the cat the truth, assuming the feather represents truth. Maybe someone with great freedom or vision (basically you) is handing another free or balanced individual some truth.
