Thread: New Years Night/Morning, Dreamed I caught a big fish with ease.. read on.....

Where details have not been included, it means I do not remember.. I have added as many specifics as my memory allows.

So I had a few scattered dreams last night, i only remember one of the scenes leading up to the 'catching of the big fish' scene. I was in a shopping center (mall) type building and I was being a bit playful and carefree moving through some of the shops and mall.. one of my modes of transport through the mall was me laying on the ground, with a window-washing rubber blade in my right hand.. I would move by dragging myself along the ground as though i were swimming, my left hand had nothing in it and my right hand had the rubber blade which helped to propell me along.. This apparently appeared to be a superior method of transport in the dream..

On to the actual dream scene.. I did not recognise the location, but it had a subtle sense of 'foreign' or 'out of town' to it. I had watched as an old friend from a town i used to live in tried to catch one of a few visible fish in the ( pier ? ) about 15 feet below the ground we stood on. The image is not vivid but the friend was using sub-ideal methods and means to try to catch the fish and I knew the task would be fruitless for her..

Not instantly, but shortly afterwards, the dream scene rotated back to that same spot and i looked down in the water again to see the fish were still visible, not swimming about but just relaxed and calm as they are in general life. I felt confident that I could catch one with ease so i cast in my line with one of the first good fishing rods I used to own as a teenager. Immediately, the largest of the fish (at least 3 to 4 times the size of the others) came to the surface and took the bait which lay only a few inches below the surface. My rod buckled with the weight of the fish and I was very pleased that I had hooked him. I was cautious that he might be too big for my fishing rod and line but i just took it easy and was thankful that this big fish did not want to thrash around and make a bid for freedom.. Instead, it seemed as though my fishing line become 2 lines to strengthen my connection with the fish. I was confident that this extra line was strong enough so i just pulled the fish directly up and out of the water..

As soon as the fish was up out of the pier and i placed him on the ground in front of me, he immediately shrivelled up into a cool looking symbol (AND I CANT REMEMBER WHAT THE SYMBOL WAS!). It was like a single letter or a letter with a logo surrounding it or something.. My friend went to touch the fish with her foot but i told her that a fish that did this was not a normal fish and that we could not touch it until we knew more about it.. i still had the fishing line in my hand so i pulled the still-hooked fish up off the ground and watched him morph back into a fish.. Then i placed him on the ground again to see what would happen and again he began shrivelling up but did not complete the change as he had done before..

It was then that i woke up.

Notes of interest:

The 'old friend' in the dream was a woman that i no longer hold a high regard for and consider a very minor inconvenience in my life. There were no noticeable personal emotions or opinions towards that person in the dream, only her methods of fishing.

With regards to 'First good fishing rod". I am now aged thirty, I was big into fishing in my teens but have not been fishing for many years.


I have googled the 'big fish' thing this morning but have read some conflicting information so I thought it bestto come here and ask, hope someone can shed some light on this please..
