Flooding Ocean, tidal waves, heavy rain and all alone.

Around 4 times a month I will have a similar dream. The ocean has pretty much flooded the world, it is raining hard and there are huge tidal waves. When I am in the dream the storm is not deadly. However there are no other people present. There is not a hurricane present or thunder and lighting. However I am always afraid. I am all alone in the middle of it all. Usually I am standing on a bridge of some sort or a small piece of land. It is raining down on me hard and I am soaking wet and the VASTNESS of the ocean the huge tidal waves and the fact that I am alone are what scare that hell out of me NOT the possibility of death. Usually I will become lucid but I don’t have the power to change the dream right away and I am still afraid. I have to conscientiously try to wake myself up or to change the dream. Usually I will succeed in waking myself but last night I was able to close my eyes for what seemed like 5 minutes in dream time and when I opened them I was elsewhere…in a pet shop actually and looking to spend some bonding time with a childhood cat of mine lol. Anybody have any ideas on what this dream could possibly mean?

You are in reality...lonely...and overwhelmed by emotion because of it. You are resorting to reaching back into the past for a pets companionship. Why don' t you join a club or make some new friends. Fear of being alone is very common, and very fixable. Forget the Lucid dreaming stuff and get out and do something about it. You can't fix this with a dream...time to be more social. You will be happier if you do.

Maybe so. I try to get out when I can. It gets hard though. I am married and with two little ones and go to school full time. A couple girl friends of mine try to have a night out once a month. I would LOVE a more adult social life though....interesting!!
