Just give me your thoughts. I always consider all possibilities

I just wanted anyones thoughts on what this dream might mean! :) I welcome all thoughts as they may help me understand the nature of this dream.

I attempted to use the mantra technique to start exercising my dream recall. I used the phrase "I will control and remember my dreams tonight." While this dream is not lucid i was able to recall what i would assume was my first dream of the night since i looked at my clock before going to bed. Estimating the time I think i laid awake reciting the mantra before falling asleep, when i awoke the clock was about three hours from when i previously looked at it. Well... here it is, exactly as it is written down on the notepad i was using in the dark barely half awake. :)

"I dreamed i was at war with myself, in the dream i was constantly waking up trying to establish control over both parts, One of the keys to this was a man who could teleport through dream states."

Of course you can imagine that this made it hard to track him through the different awakenings! :) But back to the notepad...

"I do not know how he was involved, I was at some point attempting to do so but forgot or was injured"

I assume i meant that i was trying to figure out who he was or some thing, but i digress back to the notebook!

"Somehow he wanted me to stop so he took my wife of a different dream state and threatened to kill her if i continued searching for how to control the or travel the dream states. He threatened to do this with a method called Chemically Prevent on Disconnect. I believed this in the dream to mean somehow he would effectively prevent me from remembering or give me memory loss or something."

Shortly there after i awoke. Through out the night i remember having other dreams but they were all centered around the same thing and unfortunately upon awaking from each dream i did not remember to write on the note pad.

You say "in the dream i was constantly waking up". Does this mean you were waking up, or you thought you were waking up in the dream?
"I was at some point attempting to do so" Attempting to do so what?
What was this man like? Did you have any feelings about him?
Describe your wife. What does she mean to you?
You thought he would prevent you from remembering what? And how would you feel about it if he did?

Okay! :) I'll pretend you are Mr. Alien Man! :P. these are my opinions and feeling about this dream.

I assume the man was another part of my self. Like the thing i was struggling to be. the impression i got was that the war had to do wit learning the dream states or, in essence, learning to control dreams. In the dream i think i was attempting to catch him and return him to myself, but i'm not sure. about the constantly waking up part? well it was like i was dreaming and the i would wakeup in the dream like a false awaking and be in a different dreamstate trying to catch my other half. I didn't actually wake all the way up until the time i wrote the dream journal on paper. the man himself i don't remember feeling as evil, more desperate, maybe. he wasn't harming anyone or anything else in the various dream states. he was just trying to get away from me. Which he did with ease i might add, while i struggled behind.

I am not sure what my wife in the dream was like. i cant remember any features, but i know that in the dream she was important to me. she represented one of the most important thing in the dream world to me. I am not sure if the man meant he would make ME forget or her. and im not sure what we would forget. though i do know shortly there after i awoke and proceeded to promptly forget the rest of my dreams that night, though upon awaking the next morning, i seem to remember that most of the dreams seemed to have the same feel as the one i wrote down.

Ah, so the man you were trying to catch was this other part of you? I didn't get that the first time. Ok, just a couple more questions.

What is the feeling of forgetting? What is it like to forget something? Why would that be something you don't want?

I'm not sure. I guess in the context of the dream it would be either not wanting to forget something that is important to me, or Since my mantra was "i will control and remember my dreams tonight" it could mean that he was threatening to make me forget my dreams. If that was the case then i would hate to forget my dreams because Dream recall is the foundation and the base for control in the dream world. I hope this heelps. :)

Ok, so you described this man as a part of yourself that you are chasing after that always seems to allude you, is desperate to get away, and seems to be threatening someone and/or someone important to you. Does this description seem correct?
