Addicted to smoking in dreams withought smoking?

Hi forum,
Since I was VERY young (like since I can remember) I have recuring dreams in which i smoke, and I always wake up craving a cigarette.
I loved the smell of cigatettes and when i was out i would do my best to inhale smoke from passers-by.
Now I'm 16yo and have started smoking, but I hate it.
When I smoke I feel sick like i did the first time i tried, and often dont finish the cig, and somehow actually smoking doesn't seem to fulfil the craving...
Also smoking in dreams feels extremely relaxing, almost like what I imagine doing some kind of very powerful tranqilizer would.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
My parents have always been very anti-smoking. and no one in my family smokes.

Please any insight would be brilliant, seeing as I dont actually want to smoke, and this has puzzled me all my life!

If you do not smoke in waking life and dream that you are smoking, then it indicates that you are trying to shield yourself and others against your emotions. You have trouble letting others in. The dream may also be a metaphor for an addictive relationship or habit in your waking life.
