Another interesting and slightly annoying dream.

I've had several dreams about this girl, and as I stated at the very end: they've all been spot-on and accurate... which is bothersome and the reason why I'd like to have this one interpreted. I had yet another the following day, but I haven't gotten around to writing that one out. And I may post it in this topic after I do so.


Dream 38 (April 29, 2011)

I haven’t written in my journal in a while, and I’ve had some trouble recalling my dreams--but those that I do remember all dealt with the same theme: a woman. The woman is someone that I know in the waking world, and our relationship is kind of… strange. I have mixed feelings for her, and she confuses me. I’ve had a few dreams about her, before this one, and I may or may not write those down, so I feel I must describe my situation with her, briefly.

The woman’s name is Cindy, and she’s a co-worker of mine. She was also the woman that my ex was envious and jealous of, and disliked. She is the reason my ex went after me, because she saw that Cindy was trying to get close to me, and she wanted to get me before Cindy did. Throughout our relationship, my ex would say things about Cindy, about how she “knew” that Cindy liked me and wanted me, and I believed her for the most part, because she did do things that seemed that way. I’ve brought that up to Cindy, but she tries to deny my accusations, so I just don’t even bother with it anymore. One of the major actions that points me to that direction, though, is whenever my ex and I finally did break up, Cindy seemed to be very joyful about that and gave me her phone number in the strangest manner. I remember her picking at me for not having a cell phone, because I didn’t have one for the longest time, and when I said that I did, she immediately gave me her number. Our relations with each other have been a roller coaster since. She says she wants a “best guy friend”, denies and covers up a lot of things, and confuses me, and there were times we got close to becoming romantic with each other… but there’s a reason why we didn’t: Cindy is in a five year relationship with someone else, and there is a long story behind that, which I won’t write about.

Now, onto the dream…

I can only remember bits and pieces of this one, because it was so chaotic and threw me all over the place, but what I do remember is significant. It started off with me going over to Cindy’s apartment complex, whose appearance was different in the dream. It looked like a motel, rather than an apartment complex. Her building was also not connected to the rest of the building, and was across the street. On top of that, I had to go through a few obstacles to reach her apartment. I walked around for circles, and along the way I passed by a cop. Why he was there, I didn’t know, but he looked at me and walked passed me. I also had to go through a small maze made out of glass, and once I made it out, I noticed her building on the other side of the road. Once I got there, however, there was no one and it just took me back to my town and had us both waiting in a long line, outside a Chinese restaurant. What’s interesting is that she and I have gone out to eat Chinese three different times, so that was a bit ironic for us to be dining at a Chinese place in the dream, too. Anyway, we were waiting in line, out on a parking lot packed with cars, but the cars looked like those you’d see at a junkyard--old, broken into, and battered. There was also a host standing in front of us (of course, he was Chinese), and when it was finally our turn to be seated, Cindy immediately walked into the restaurant and left me there with the host. He asked me who that was, and I told him she was my date and told me to walk in.

Throughout most of the dream, I felt as though I was chasing after Cindy (in a way), and she was continuously hiding or running away from me. I shrugged it off and sighed, and made my way towards the restaurant doors, but before I could enter, my friend stopped me and told me that Cindy had hit his car. The car was strange. It looked like an old Cadillac, and had an extended hood; it was twice the size of a normal car hood, but other than him showing me the damage, I made nothing of it and walked into the restaurant. Here is when things get slightly chaotic and I forget details. The restaurant wasn’t a restaurant at all, but was a casino instead. The place was filled with games, flashing lights, and crowds of people. I walked around looking for Cindy, but couldn’t find her. I wasn’t too bothered, because I knew she was hiding from me, but I continued exploring the place. I’m not too sure what happened next, and how I ended up in my house, but I was now in my house, and in my kitchen, getting some water. I heard the phone ring, but I didn’t pick it up and let it ring--and so did my parents. When the answering machine came on, I heard Cindy’s voice, but I can’t remember exactly what she said. Her voice sounded distraught, frantic, emotional, and in shock, as though something bad had happened to her… but I didn’t know what. My parents looked at each other, confused, and wondering what the message was all about, then they looked at me. My mother asked me who that was, and I told her, and from there, the dream ends.

The dream bothers me in the sense that currently, that’s how Cindy is acting towards me: avoiding, hiding, and running away from me. What also bothers me is the message, not only because I don’t remember what was said, but because of the tone in her voice and the way she expressed that message. I’m not too certain, but I think she was also crying while leaving that message… and that worries me, because my dreams with her have been spot-on thus far.
