Text messaging an acquaintance! please interpret

I had a dream that I was in the car text messaging someone who is basically one of the most popular boys in all of the schools where I live. I see him at track meets and we have many mutual friends, we're just not really friends, he knows me though. He is best friends or very good friends with a boy that I like even though I don't know him too well. I've seen him at football games so I requested him on a social networking site. He has yet to accept it though, purposely I'm thinking. So while I was in the car and my acquaintance was texting me, he asked me if I knew the boy that I liked and I said sort of and he said, " you will soon." I always ask the Universe if this could happen soon, and I say soon every single time I ask. What could this dream mean?
