Crazy dream: Seinfeld, Jackets, Doors and Steam Vents!
I had a very unusual dream, which I would like to be interpreted. Dream content will be in quotes.
Relevant information: I am 15 have spent my whole life in Australia. In June 2010 I moved to a new flat, which, like my last home, was rented from the department of housing (state gov't). We moved because my disabled mother found the old place difficult. In October the department of housing installed an automatic door opener. On the inside, one presses a big green button near the door and it opens, making a distinctive noise, and closes a while later. I had this dream shortly before waking up on a Summer (JP:夏) morning. I had the dream in December, I think. I can't remember. The dream alternated between events and settings with some parts repeating. The flat does not have an alcove. The front door to my house bears absolutely no resemblance to the one in my dream.

I heard the door opening and walked up towards it to my mother who was testing the new door button. It was located in an alcove which had some cleaning products in it (Including a "Caution: Wet Floor" sign and one of those old fashioned mops with white strings coming out of it) and it had a button to close the door so you don't have to wait. I had to leave. I went to the front door which was an old wood panelled door. There was an umbrella stand, a coat stand, green walls and a small entrance chamber sort of thing (kind of like a vestibulum but shorter). Jerry Seinfeld was there and I wasn't surprised at all. We were about to walk out the door into New York, which also didn't surprise me. I put on a formal jacket (like that which comes with a business suit), but I must have forgotten how they were fastened so in the dream it turned into a tacky zip up black leather jumper (US: sweater). I then remembered that I didn't need a jacket as in New York they have those vents in the roads with steam coming out of them and the steam would keep me warm. Then I was at the back door and could not figure out where the button to close it was.
When I woke up, my mother told me that she had opened the back door just then to let the air in. The sound from the door must have made its way into my dream.
