      being silent in dreams

      I was wondering if there was a reason why in some dreams it becomes impossible to speak. Most of the times when I have dreams like this I am in a great deal of perril but cant call out for help I was wondering if maybe there was a logical answer to this, thanks!

      Inability to scream

      I'm not sure why we can't scream in a dream, but I know that it is typical. I wonder if anyone here can say that they do have the ability to scream in a dream. Perhaps not screaming reinforcess our sense of helplessness, and that is sort of what nightmares are all about--pointing out to us our vulnerabilities and helplessness.
