If you've dreamed about being "lost"..

I know that probably everyone has had dreams of being lost... being lost at school, at the mall, etc.

Most of my lost dreams have been where I've been late for a test of some kind and couldn't find the classroom but in my latest lost dream I was trying to find my room in a hotel.

Now that I think about it.. I'm always lost indoors.. I've never had a dream where I was lost outdoors (i.e., in the woods).

My question is.. has anyone ever FOUND their destination in a lost dream?? I never have.. I always wake up before I find my way to whereever I was trying to get to.

I find these lost dreams very unsettling.

Most of my dreams are "lost dreams" I never relaly have a destaniation, but i just keeping egtting more and more lost. someitmes ill end up in a room where i cnat get out, in which case ill just be lucid enoguh to knwo that its time to wake up NOW. Some times i have repeat dreams of places iev been lost, but its wierd beacse then ill know ive ben there beofre in an older dream, and tyr looking for an alternte path. Most of my lost dreams involve me having to reach a destanation to meet someone or to get back where I stated. Sometimes its to wake up. I have to find the place to wake up, and in those type dreams I do find that place eventually.BUt being lost is fun! I enjoy it. While it is so scary and toruble some, in the bakc of your mind you always know your going to wake up eventually, so why not go with the flow?

Being lost might be fun for me if I were lucid and realized it was all just a dream. Heck I wouldn't even consider it possible to be lost in a lucid dream.. cuz I could just will myself to be somewhere else.

No, I'm always lost in a non-lucid dream and therefore believe I'm awake and actually struggling to find my way.

Maybe you just think you are lost. You know that you have a room in the hotel but that is not what you are suppose to really find. Take the time out in you dream to enjoy what happens if you knock on another person in the hotels room. In every hotel there is a front desk if you really think you are lost. But I really don't think you are lost finding your room.

Nope, when I get lost I can *never* find my way back.

i've dreamed about being lost out of doors, until a dream character has pointed me in the right direction, and its usually right in front of me, where i'm trying to get to.

have you ever had those dreams where you're driving and it's really dark and you can only see so far ahead of you. I've had dreams like that, and it's not like i'm lost, but i don't know where i'm going. I'm just driving.... my point is, maybe you don't HAVE a destination, you're just making up the journey. Kind of like life. Maybe you unconsciously don't think you have a destination.

Ask yourself this, do you have plans for the future, or are you just living day by day? relate that concept to your dreams, maybe you can come up with a suitable interpretation.

Just when you think you can generalize a new rule...

I had decided to act upon the working premise that whenever I am lost in a dream, or lose something, to frankly say "to hell with it" and move on from there -- and not waste anytime looking around for lost stuff, or places that I have been before. and it would have been fine, but guess what?

I couldn't find an Office where I needed to report and so I said, "to hell with it", and this secretary who was taking lunch walked up to me and said, "Oh, Mr. Volont, you look lost. Our building is right over there."

The other night, I was down at the bottom of a cliff from where I needed to be, and when I finally gave up on the notion of getting back up there, suddenly I was.

So, I think the trick in these dreams is to stop obsessing, and be willing to walk away. if it is important, then it will pull us back.

Hmm.. interesting concept.. and it does make sense.

The next time I'm wandering in a dream, I'll try to remember this and see what happens. Thanks!
