Friend's death, list of numbers, drowning kid...

So... These are all three separate dreams, dreamt in one night.

In the first, a dear friend of mine who is fading away from me is sleeping over at my house. He goes to take a shower in the master bath, and after about 30 minutes I get the feeling that something is wrong. It turns out he had a seizure (which he is prone to getting) and died. I never saw him again in the dream because I didn't want to open the shower door and see him lying there. I remember my dad saying afterwards that his eyes were open but rolled up in his head. I know the death of a loved one often means they are distancing from you, which I would not disagree with in this particular case, but I was just looking for other interpretations.

In the second, I'm pretty sure I'm at a birthday party or a large social gathering. I reached in my pocket and pulled out a very thin and long piece of paper rolled up, like an old stock ticker would spit out. On it was a very long list of numbers that read like this: 1.746737329464739 etc. and when there was another 1 in the list it would start again with a long decimal after the 1. I didn't know what it meant, some people at the party said it was the magnitude of an earthquake that was going to happen, but i didn't know what it was. Still absolutely no clue.

The third was perhaps the most disturbing to me. I was at another party, maybe the same, for elementary-aged children. I said something to a boy that was sitting on the floor, and apparently it upset him becuase he got up and left out the front door, with everyone else going behind him except for two black boys (whom I assume were brothers and residents at the house) At this point I felt like I was observing from an outside window because they didn't acknowledge me, but I know I was in the room. They started bickering like little kids do. (Note that the room included beds, a bathroom, and a kitchen all in one, it will just make more sense as you read.) When they were done bickering, one went to his bed, the other went to the bathtub, which was already full of water, fell in with his clothes on and drowned. I'm not sure what happened right after that, I remember chattering my teeth in the dream right after he fell in (maybe I was cold) Then almost instantly I was an older black gentleman, probably late 60s, who I'll just say had seen hard times in his life. I was viewing the same room from the same spot as when the boy drowned, only this time the boy that had gotten in the bed was in his late teens or early 20s, with the covers pulled over his body, and he was staring at me wide-eyed with an otherwise blank expression on his face. I chattered my teeth again and began to whine anxiously, and then I woke up. Thoughts?

      Hi granvals,

With the first dream, would agree that the death means he is disancing himself, inparticular it is marking an end of yor relationship with him (as death is symbolic of an ending). One thing that might be insightful for you though, in the dream you didn't want to look at his dead body so you never saw him again. I think this might be something you could address in your waking life. Maybe you haven't actually asked him why he has been distancing himself for you and you are just letting him go without a fight? Maybe it's because you couldn't bear to argue with him, or maybe you are afraid to see his indifference at close range? But really, I think you've got to pluck up the courage to find out what's going on because maybe he is actually having sone problems and maybe he needs you right now?

The part of this dream where his eyes are rolled up into his head might be symbolic of something too, because for some reason your Dad made a point of telling you this in the dream. it could mean that he is not seeing things clearly, or even that he is looking too much inwardly at himself and he's getting lost in his own world.

Just a thought anyway. If you come back, I will look at the other dreams too (if you want me to.)

      cheers
