dreaming about co-worker and water

Hi. I'm new here and I joined this site so to gain other views on a dream I had last night.

I'm a school psychologist assigned to an alternative school. We recently had a new teacher start there, with whom I've been friendly on an appropriate level. She is attractive in several ways but I've maintained my professionalism around her and honestly, I rarely give her a second thought once school lets out. That and the fact that I haven't knowingly dreamed about her before made last night's dream stand out to me.

I remember being in a rural area at a house. I don't remember being in the house, just seeing the back of it where there was a partially screened-in porch (top half screened, bottom half white boards). There were other people in the dream that we both knew to some extent but I neither knew remembered their names nor saw them. I just knew they were present.

For a brief moment, the teacher and I were in the house. The room we were in was lit from the daylight and we were alone for a moment. I remember sitting and she came came up to me from behind and kissed the back of my neck, very softly in a way that brought chills down my back (keep in mind that this woman and I never talk outside of work and what little we talk while at work is always about students; there is no outside relationship with her; she's married and I'm divorced). I saw her face clearly after she did that. She was smiling and appeared very happy. No other physical contact occurred during this part of the dream.

The next thing I remember was being down the hill from the house with the teacher, looking at an old hand-operated water pump that was under a small open, roofed structure. The pump didn't work at first. I remember squatting down to tinker with it and somehow I got it to work. When the water came out, it was brown and murky, with intermittent amounts of air forced out at the same time as the water coming. The teacher and I were both happy with the fact that it was working. Then I remember facing her while standing next to her near the pump under the roof that covered it and then leaning over and kissing the left side of her neck while she hugged me. I recall thinking to myself "she's not going to want me to do this" and then telling myself it was okay because she's already made the first move earlier by kissing the back of neck, thus establishing the fact that she's comfortable enough with me.

I woke up at that point, when my alarm went off at 6:30AM. It's near 11AM now and the dream has been on my mind since. I told her this morning that she was in a dream--only me and her by a water pump and I somehow got it to work (I did not tell her about the kissing part). She just laughed and said something about wondering what I did to make it work.

Welcome to the forum. For part one of your dream, I'd take to see it as an impartial warning from your inner subconscious. Dreaming about a women in that context indicated your desire for intimacy and whilst it may not be with her, the malignant consequences having an affair with a married woman results in loneliness, hence the rural house being screened as if you don;t want anyone to know about it. Again, in your second dream, the high desire for intimacy is prevalent. Murky water protruding out of the pump is indicative of how even though you can feel happy from the intimacy, ultimately it will turn ugly sooner or later.

Your interpretation is quite impressive and I can see how that would fit. I'll dwell on this a bit and see how it applies. Thank you.
