      A Dream of The Tower

Yesterday evening in the fits of a feverish nap, I had a vivid and frightening dream.

I entered an elevator, plain metallic walls, silvery buttons, one of which had a symbol instead of a number on it. For some reason this symbol was supposed to take me to some alien group. The elevator went up and up, and burst through the top of a grey-stone tower. The elevator itself went tumbling back to earth after bursting free of the crumbling structure, but I held tightly to the wall, straddling a windowsill between the endless stone elevator shaft and the endless drop into the grey fog outside. The sky was black and moody as hell. I laughed at first, for some reason, but lost my humor steadily.

The young man I'm seeing happened to be up there, and he had no problem with the height or the structure's state of decay. He told me that if the elevator was still intact when it hit the bottom, I could have it. I listened, waiting for the sound of the elevator to make contact with the ground, but as the seconds past and there was no crashing reply, I grew sick and dizzy. I was unimaginably high up, and the thought of falling was terrible. Quickly, my young man began to climb down the outer wall, gripping stones and moving with ease, beckoning me to follow. But I clung in fear to my window ledge, and feared for his safety as well.

      --

I woke here, thinking I was ill, and almost had my roommate take me to the ER, but it turned out I was just having a little panic attack. I calmed down, thought about the dream for a bit, and realized how like The Tower card this was.

Now, I already have my own, albeit very silly, interpretation of this dream, but I'd love to hear what others have to say.

      You're scared of heights maybe?

He had your back, but you let the fear overcome you..

Honestly your interpretation is what counts, i'd like to hear it.

Hahaha, no, my interpretation is not totally serious... at all.

      Let me guess...totally not serious...

Hmmm.....the tower is a penis and you're afraid to climb/mount it? The fall is your concern about stepping into the responsibility of a serious relationship while fearing to step back into the inevitable 'crash' of being alone?

The young man is indeed young and represents both fun and futility because age-gap relationships are not something you take entirely serious for other people so why should you take one serious for yourself...

Yeah, I'm just talking out of my ass. I saw the thread and just felt like typing.

So...what does it mean to you?

It means I'm afraid of giant penises.
