      The Goddess Aphrodite...

A while back, i had a dream in which three Goddesses appeared...Athena, Diana and Venus.
Now the other night i've had a dream in which Aphrodite has made herself known...Goddess of Love, Born of the Sea...

I'm at the beach with my brother, we're in the sea, and we're quite far from the shore. He wants to take me further out, but i say no. There are lots of people swimming in the sea, it's very crowded.
I go back to the shore, and watch the waves wash over my feet...
At this point, i clearly remember thinking about the Goddess Aphrodite, who was born of Poseidon, and her connection with the sea...Aphrodite? again?

any ideas? Looks like it's a message from my archetypes again...
      But what?

It may seem like a trivial point to make, but I have noticed that in all very important dreams in which some Divine Presence is encountered, one is invariably barefoot.

Notice that you had your realization shortly after noticing your bare feet.

Years ago that very important Dream I had in which the fabric of Space tore open and I was poured upon by the White Light... just before that Dream got interesting, I had been something of a Commando (we would say 'terrorist' today, depending upon whose side one is on politically), and everything changed when I looked down and noticed my combat boots were gone and I was barefoot.

As for the details of your dream... many people are IN THE SEA, awash in their emotions and following the aesthetic dictates of their Heart. But Aphrodite arose out of the foam. She does not continue in the Sea, but came from out of it. Somehow, you had the same intuition, and from the Sea you came assure, and yet keep your connection to the Sea by continuing to have the waves wash over your feet.

You are moving toward the Integration of Sea and Land -- heart and mind.

Just in the details, the dream indicates that your brother may be impulsive. His instincts will mostly be correct, but only as much as surface appearances are truly representative most of the time. While the Emotions are satisfied with first impressions and instant aesthetic evaluations, only the Intellect is capable of reflections and second thoughts. These can come only from the firm foothold of being on shore.

so would that suggest that i'm finally beginning to learn to separate my emotions from situations when necessary?
Or could it mean that i'm learning to listen to my heart, at the same time as my mind, which i never used to be able to do?
I used to think if i went along listening to everything my heart told me, i'd be in some serious trouble. I've always had more admiration for what my mind says, rather than my heart. I've always found my heart to be a flippant character at the best of times!
It was quite a vivid dream.

Yeah, my brother is pretty impulsive...and i wouldn't say he's 'anchored' to anything, if you like, he just goes along life without any plan, or destinations.
And he thinks i'm boring because i do!
