Recurring suitcase dream

I am traveling to New York soon, so the nature of travel in my dream seems pretty normal. Last week I dreamed that I'd boarded a small plane traveling to NYC, only to trealize that my carry on duffel bag was empty. In my thought process on the plane I rationalized that I had picked up the wrong duffel bag when I left for the airport and that my packed bag was still on my bedroom floor at home. I awoke before the issue was resolved.

Last night, a week later, I dreamed similarly. In this dream I made it to NYC to my friend's apartment where I will be staying for my trip. He had several visitors over that I have never met and are not any of his friends in our true, waking life. I spent some time socializing with the group he had over and left to unpack my suitcase. Though there were items in my suitcase, I began to panick because I'd left so many things out of it. I had no face wash or facial lotion, nor pajamas, my favorite sunglasses, or enough daily clothes. I obsessed mostly about my skin products. I was trying to figure out a way to get the same products I used at home as I was worried my skin would react badly without them. For whatever reason, I did find my eye cream in a separate bag. In both dreams the duffel bag and the suitcase were the same ones I truly use in travel. They are each purple, though I'm not sure the color is relevant given that I use this luggage set regularly. I am not surprised to dream of my trip as I was talking to the friend I will stay with right before I fell asleep.
