      A Bad Dream

Around 6 months ago I had a really bad dream which i haven't shared with anyone but now I've decided to give it a go. Basically, my dream started with me sitting in what i think was a coffee shop, but that's up for interpretation. I remember that the coffee shop was in a downtown area with very high buildings all around me. I was able to determine my location because there was a wall of glass that looks onto the street. The strange thing was that it was dark. So dark you couldn't even see a star in the sky, it was just darkness all around. For a moment all sound stopped. I was looking up into the sky and saw a white crack of lightening hit the ground. The sound was mind blasting. It literary shook me in my dream, and you could feel the power and intensity of it. As it hit the ground, the pavement started the crumble, and this huge tidal wave began rushing towards me engulfing everything. Hope you enjoyed it, I would appreciate as much feedback as possible

I would say, that the first thing that should be looked at, is what makes you feel it was a bad dream. It sounds some what pleasant, until the tidal wave. Is the 'bad dream' part just that you felt fear from the tidal wave, or was there more emotion involved? At what point did it become uncomfortable or bad dream like? Also, we should look at the presence or abscence of other people. Were there other people in the coffee shop, and did you see other people getting caught up in the wave?

Ummm.....it makes me feel bad because the lightening really scared me how vivid it was and the darkness too, just gave me goosebumps, It was an unbelievable dark sky dark. But the part were i got really scared was the water coming towards me it scared me the most, then the lightening second and not so much how dark it was. It became uncomfortable the moment i couldn't hear any sound at all and the lightening struck the pavement. I definitely don't remember any people around at all. It's safe to say i was alone, i have no relocation of anyone else. I saw nothing getting caught up in the tidal wave except for pavement and parts of the street. It never reached me but the water was coming towards me. I just don't understand.

Of course I do not know you in real life or I could take more educated a stab at it, but I think it may be some thing like this. You have come to a place in some life area (work, school, love) where youu have started on a path that you fear will change everything you have been comfortable with. You feel alone in the path (moving for a job/leaving your family?) and even though you feel that it is going to remove all the comfort you have had (familiar settings) you have a trapped feeling, like you want to run, but do not think running is an option.

Let me know if any of that could apply. thanks for sharing such an intense dream.

Great insight, I appreciate it. When I first had the dream my initial reaction was that the world would end hahah. The major change that I did in my life was going from University to perusing an automotive career instead. It made me very uneasy and still does. I moved away and live by myself now since school is so far. I guess if you look at it I am kind of alone without my friends or even a girlfriend. I'm planning on moving away next year in the UK and doing an apprenticeship, so i'm not sure if that's more loneliness or running away, although that doesn't bother me because i'm excited to move there. I've always had ideas about moving away from where I live now Toronto and just starting fresh. I don't like Canada or Toronto because I don't have any family here and I just prefer places in Europe.
