Dream of eating a CD

Since I was a child, I've had one dream recur about six times, where I'm sat in front of a plate with a fork and I'm eating a CD. Like, literally a compact disc. It's always shiny-side up, already broken into a few pieces before I even start biting parts off, and tastes oily & slightly salty.

I've never been able to find anyone who's had a similar dream and Google's advertising of audio CDs makes it impossible to search for an interpretation of it. I've always been rather sceptical about dream analysis, but I'm willing to put it out there to see if anyone can have a crack at it.

Well I'm afraid that the only ideas I have is you either hate/love music or anything that could can be stored on a CD. You could try a website called dream moods, this has helped me out through the years

Good luck I hope you find out if this means anything after all it could just be a recurring random dream, I had them all the time.

Let me provide you with some ideas to play with. First, a dream recurs when the basic issue of the dream has not been resolved. In this case, it seems you are hungry for something, trying to fill a basic need, therefore the scene of eating...over and over again. The broken pieces of CD could represent many things, and this is where other dreams you experience or association techniques might help you figure out which of the possibilities it really is. The CD may be about the music or the memories associated with music. Are the memories broken? A CD is also a circle, which is archetypal and represents wholeness. In this case, the wholeness is fragmented. The CD doesn't sound like it tastes very good, so it may represent something offensive to you. Figuring out what you might need in your life that is simultaneously offensive may be the answer to your problem. It is not uncommon for the unconscious to need something that the conscious (ego) doesn't particularly want to eat.

Yes, I doubt there is such a thing as a random recurring dream. Just a meaningful recurring one.

A good answer, especially broken and fragmented whole.
But I wonder if it's not about music. If it is broken memory, could an option be your memory recorded on the CD?

Anyway, I thought at first it may be you trying to ingest what you should listen to. And it just doesn't work.
You are supposed to listen to a CD.
And hence it's broken. You cannot receive the whole information this way.

And, that it started as a child and the CD had the attractive shiny side up, could it mean you ignorantly or naively tried to eat what looked good on the surface, instead of properly receiving that information intended?
So, maybe the musical quality is about you wanting to be in tune or harmony or rhythm in your life, but not thinking carefully about it to make it real. Or the CD can just be to demonstrate the main meaning.
