Dream about being chased.

I desperately needed the money. I searched everywhere for a job. And this continuing search for the sustenance of life was coming up as a failure.

Today I was to search in the mall for anything . And that’s when I came across a small poster that had the words, Hiring. At that moment, within my grasp was something I had yearned for, something I needed to live this independent life I had given to myself. But before I could take it… The lady in front asked me for a picture. I never looked good in pictures, and I’ve always hated having them taken. But a picture for a job isn’t a bad trade-off. She snapped the blurred picture of my open smile and squinty eyes and I was on my merry way.

As the bus pulled closer and closer into the desolate area, the atmosphere became darker. It’s as if the trees decided to block all sunlight from the area, and sap the warmth from the air. I could feel the crunch of damp grass beneath my feet. The dim street lamps lit up very few buildings along the off-beaten path. This cautious feeling began to bubble at the center of my core. Everything is off. My gut tried to tell me. But I simply ignored the instincts and went towards the mansion where the address lead me to.

The branches that had surrounded its walls were dead. The cold grasp of winter had taken their vitality. The continuance of leaves crunching beneath me denied me the element of surprise, I had hoped to give the place a good once over before I entered. But, if this job offer did give me the chance to continue living in a home, to continue the poor existence I had to offer, then I should take it. I should go through this ordeal no matter how badly I wanted to leave. A small glimmer at the side of my eye caught something… Barbed wire? Was that barbed wire? The darkness had exhumed all I could see, only the dimly lit street lamps far from me left a hole in the never-ending darkness.

I braced myself and began to knock, after a few, the door began to screech and curl beneath the pressure of opening, as if it was against its wishes of being pried to reveal its inner workings.

The man at the door had an air of in-authenticity. The golden embers of his short hair accentuated the sharp angles of his cheeks and jaw. “Are you… here for the job interview?” He inquired.
“Oh yes! I’ve come regarded this poster.” As I gently hand him the sign ripped down hours ago. He glared at it, and said,

“OHhhh, Oh, I see.” A devilish smile permeating his lips.
“Come this way please.”

He led me into the livingroom. The sofa I sat on was worn out, and the striped green pattern had stains and dark dirty patches. Not much light illuminated the room, and the grimy bulbs left a murky hue on everything. I heard chattering from the kitchen, but it was all incoherent. I thought about inching my way closer, to maybe see what they were talking about, but that’s considered rude in most cases. The seeds of doubt began to fill into my mind, “what were they planning, was this a legitimate business, why’d they take my picture in the mall, why haven’t I been addressed to yet?” My heart pounded within my chest, I decided to leave. This didn’t feel safe, this didn’t feel right. Why was it out in the middle of no where? Why was there barbed wire? I silently got up and tried to open the door I originally came through.

Locked?


How’d they lock it from the inside? I glanced at the kitchen (where they gathered) and I took notice of stairs that led to the second story.

Glancing up, all I saw was the uncertainty of darkness. But at that moment, I let fear, my instinct take hold of the reins. I silently flew up the steps, making sure not to make any noise. Then I witnessed it.

Two other girls, hiding in the hallway. Their hair short and gangly, and their clothes were filthy from what I could see. I shushed them, and told them it would be okay. We would all get out safe. But they shook their heads at me, with shocked and dreaded eyes. I noticed a faint glow on one of their faces. I noticed to the left, was a window. With a fraction of the light from the street lamp. I rushed to it and found the window to be unlocked. This will be perfect. I thought to myself. But I still had to take into account that if I did escape through here, I’d have to find my down the second story.

This is where I began to forget what happened.

My apologies.

All I do remember is that they had my dog, so I freed her from a cage. And that’s where they heard me trying to leave. So I took the girls that were also there with me, and I think we scaled out the window, but were unharmed somehow. We’re running from the house, and it seems that no one is chasing us.

I rushed through, the sidewalks moistened from rain. I looked back at the girls, trying to see if they caught up and my dog continued to pull me forward faster than I had ever imagined. A building right in front of the street lamp said, “NyxAssasin” and right then and there I remembered that name from Dota 2. But for some reason, I kept thinking Nixon. The building looked abandoned, but all the lights were on, so I wanted to check if anyone was in there. If they could help us.

I went to the door, and it was open so I went in and decided to hide.
This building was the epitome of glass building. Glass and carpeted floors. This worried me though, because if everything was glass, they could see everything inside of it too. And that included the two girls and me.

We continued through and even went up stairs, to the second story.
That’s where we found really frightening objects. There were rugs covered in blood and human vomit. Pillows, blanket, beds just scattered about, some between the doors to other offices and wooden chairs. It was like a crime-scene dump. Where all soiled evidence is thrown away. But it was just tossed carelessly around the room.

I had to stop Aela (my dog) from trying to eat the bodily fluids and thats when I saw a woman. Way too thin, dark circles beneath her eyes, and dark brown hair that was a rats nest on her head. She came towards me, and told me that I shouldn’t be here. I slowly backed away from her, but she just sat back down in her wooden rocking chair, staring at a rug with a human outline on it that had vomit and blood scattered on the side.

I decided to take the girls and go, and that’s when we were stopped by a helicopter.

I don’t really remember what happened at that point.

But here’s what I do remember.

It was light out now, and the pilot was a young man. Maybe around my age, or a little older. To save you my horrible descriptions.

Just imagine a young keanu reeves with shoulder length hair.

He told me to get in, and so I did. He had this really great, trustworthy air to him. And so I trusted him. But he told me that the girls couldn’t come with me.

Other men from the helicopter took her away, and I asked if they were going to be safe. He assured me that they would, but they were so scared. I felt guilty letting them go like that.

I asked him where he was taking me, but he told me something that I couldn’t remember. It wasn’t familiar. And panic started to boil within me again. He looked so happy, and care-free and unburdened. So I asked him again where we were going, and the name just didn’t stick. But I guess in the dream, I knew it was bad juju, because I told him that we couldn’t go there. He looked baffled at me, and in my weird dream state I realized that in my post modernist view. He was oh oh oh so ignorant. In the fact that he had absolutely no idea where the girls were going. What was going on and all he knew was to not worry. He was like this innocent boy who didn’t understand what these people wanted. He was just trained to fly a plane and that was it. He wasn’t told anything other than the false fact that the girls he transported were going to be “safe” after he dropped them off. And for some really odd reason, in this dream, to gain his trust, I kissed him. He looked so shocked. He’s never even thought of a girl that way, and then this random one decides to kiss him.

But in this dream it worked.

I told him that we had to save those girls, and he listened to me.

And that’s where I wake up.

I felt like the only thing that kept me from absolutely freaking out from terror was my dog and my responsibility to keep the two girls safe.
Side note, my dog is a very large female Alaskan Malamute. But she's still a puppy (but a huge one, haha).

I'm a 17 year old female who might be a little stressed about my future since graduation is only a semester away. I'm still struggling with where I want to go and what major.

I'm generally a very easy going person, but I do enjoy nurturing people or seeing if I can aid in their potential growth. I'm very new to this dream diary/dream guide/dream stuff in general. But I'd say I'm very sensitive to dreams and have them every night, and do have a general good memory with them.

But dreams like this one tend to really hit home. And I was wondering if you guys could help me figure it out.
