Climbing up moss-covered rocks; uncertainty about future

I'm going through an... interesting point in my life right now and I wrote down a dream I had last night:

I found myself on a coastline in Scotland. I remember being annoyed with myself because I had fallen there partly by accident but also partly on purpose, and because I was chasing somebody and couldn't waste time. The setting was a little like a stereotypical coast, except the entire ground was covered in bright green, slippery moss / shrubbery, even under the cold water. The sea water was maybe 800 meters away from me but periodically -- it's hard to tell time in dreams but I would say between 30 seconds and five minutes -- the water would rise very very quickly and come maybe 200 meters or less from where I was crouched. I remember distinctly thinking that this was the tide coming in, even though the tide cycles are obviously a lot slower in real life. I was surprised and worried because the water came up a lot further than I expected, and also because there was no indication whatsoever on the shrubbery where the tide stopped -- like I said it was a uniform green even under the water. I remember I had a brief thought about whether I would be able to hold on to the slope if the tide caught me, since it only rose momentarily, but I dismissed this thought quickly because the tide wasn't that close and I didn't want to think about it.

Anyway, I was on this steep slope that I had to climb up to escape; it was maybe five feet tall and entirely covered in the slippery moss. I was crouched on the side of the slope and I noticed my backpack lying on the ground with various objects scattered around. I was definitely trapped on the slope, but I wasn't terrified because I regarded the entire situation as more of a trivial annoyance. The first time I tried to climb up I had a bunch of objects in my left hand and another one in my right hand. The moss was slippery and I basically got up a little ways using my arms but I couldn't climb it. It reminded me of when I went ice climbing and my feet crampons wouldn't stick. So by now I was really annoyed but I also remember being very positive about the thing, like it was still no big deal. I put all the stuff in my hands and on the ground in the backpack and used my hands to scrape away the moss, and it was really thick -- like two or three inches and it came off in big chunks. Underneath was wet stone, but it was a lot more grippy and my hands were free. My recollection ends as I pull myself up with my hands, and I'm certain that I succeeded; I remember feeling like it was definitely closer to my limits than I had expected, though.

I'm just curious about this dream and what it says about my subconscious.
