Thread: Just want to know what my dream means

That is actually a fairly normal dream for us LDers...

Did I ask if it was normal? No.
I don't care how crazy your dreams are or how ordinary mine are I just want to know what mine means so answer the question or gtfo.

It means you have something coming up in your life that you are secretly afraid of. I would say you have plans to do something you have never done before or are facing your parents getting a divorce or moving.

This is my first post on here so take it as you will. Was this a lucid dream or just a regular dream that you remember? I can't say that I have an answer for you as I personally believe that each person can find meaning in their dreams best when they try to decipher them themselves (nobody knows your life like you do after all). For example, a picnic table in one person's dream could represent something totally different to somebody else in their dream. Anyway, on first reading it it reminded me of some of my dreams when I'm lucid. I'm often on a path of some sort walking somewhere and I don't know the destination. Since you're heading down a path with a foggy end and a scary voice coming out of it, it would seem that you might be afraid of something new in your life; something that your heading toward or learning about? It could even be the idea of lucid dreaming or something new or unknown. Maybe I'm being too vague or too obvious with that, but that's where I would start if I were you. Ask yourself if you have any new ideas or new relationships in your life (anything new your trying to accomplish?) and what might scare you about it. Maybe if you learn more about that aspect of your life the dream can progress into something more positive.

I mean, seeing you just joined last month it would make me think that lucid dreaming may be a new idea for you, and now you found this website where you might have new "friends" or people with the same interest who are on the same path as you are. But, since it's a new idea or something new that you're trying it could still frighten you in some way since you aren't sure where it's going to take you? Maybe it "coming after you" means you're getting close but you're having trouble letting it through. I've always been advised to face the things that frighten you in your dreams (if you can).

I've lucid dreamt before, but this is not one. I just have normally weird dreams. I am 20 and my parents have been divorced for a while now so that is not it. I have been having a lot of dreams about things wanting to kill me and morbid dreams.

I only joined the site for this question lucid dreaming is not new to me.

I used to have a lot of morbid dreams when I was younger (high school to early 20's). Never that anyone was trying to kill me so much, but very detailed and gory. Now that I'm older (mid 30's) I have mostly pleasant dreams. I would still guess that there's something in your life that you're afraid of at the moment, or something that's bothering you. The path would suggest it's something you're moving toward which makes it seem like a new idea or direction in your life. You're friends could mean something familiar that you want to hold onto...I don't know, that's really a shot in the dark. I think it's best if you analyze your own life and try to decipher where or what you're moving toward that's making you feel afraid. It could be a new job, new relationship, new decision for school/whatever...or even just the direction your life is going and it's not new but it's just not making you happy? Or I could be totally off on all of this-ha! Anyway, I tried.....
If lucid dreaming isn't new to you maybe you could try to revisit this dream and face your fear to see what it means? I've only successfully revisited one dream when I was lucid before, so I know it's difficult, but maybe it's worth a try.
