      Swimming Through Layers

I live in the Nevada, so I'm surrounded by desert and nowhere near swamps, Just a heads up. I'm puzzled as to what this means, I'm still trying to come up with different reasons. Any feedback would be great for I am a Noob!

It was a partly cloudy day, the air was thick, and I was in a swamp. I stood in front of a stream of water, and I had to get to the other side. I jumped in the water and became completely submerged. The water was green but clear, enough for me to see about 20 to 30 feet ahead of me and wasn't tainted, so I swam. As I continued swimming all was normal, fish were swimming by me going with the flow of the water, was clear. I swam further and reached a part of the water where crocodiles were relaxing. I felt no fear for none were paying attention to me so why bother them. I continued to swim, as I was swimming one humungous crocodile swam really fast, chewed up a smaller crocodile and dragged it away, "HOLY SHIT!" I thought to myself.

After leaving that area of water snakes were swimming by me, there were many. So many that as I was swimming in front of them, they were bumping into me as they were swimming by. I thought quickly as they were going to slow me down. I covered my head and spun my body like a drill so the snakes would swim around me like Hydrodynamics. After I was past the snakes, next came shit. Shit was now flowing through the stream of water, the water was still clear but there were many large long clumps of shit going by. At this point I became very disgusted, I thought to my self "Fuck this!" and started to swim to the surface. I wasn't drowning nor was I struggling I just didn't want to swim through shit. As I reached the surface I was met by a bright light, then I awakened.

WELL this is the best that I can do for you..
      Marsh
To see or dream that you are at a marsh suggests instability in your emotional realm. You are feeling bogged down, insecure or unsure about the future or how to go about with achieving your goals.

To dream that a marsh is being drained indicates that you are feeling weary and emotionally drained. Alternatively, you feel lost.

      Swamp
To see a swamp in your dream symbolizes the repressed and dark aspects of yourself. You may be feeling insecure. The dream may also be a pun on feeling swamped from work, a relationship, or other emotional burden.
To dream that you are walking through a swampy area foretells that you will find yourself in an adverse situation. You may experience setbacks and disappointments in love. Alternatively, walking through a swamp in your dream denotes the attainment of prosperity and pleasure through dangerous and underhanded means.

But uhh these symbol things hardly ever apply to me, and I don't know how applicable it'll be to you. JUST tryin to help.

It is a good thing we have internet. I looked up what each symbol meant, wrote them down, and tried to interpret them in my dream. here is what I think I got.

I’m in a Swamp, which represents big problems I can’t get out of or things that might’ve been over my head. The stream represents the problems or challenges that I have to overcome. Swimming through the stream means that I’m figuring out my problems. I’m breathing Underwater, which means that while going through these problems, I keep calm and not let it get to me. Fish swimming by me, meaning that positive and/or negative aspects of me or life I let pass by. Next are Alligators, who pay no attention to me but a big one takes out a small one and swims away. It might mean that I don’t let my fears or dangers get to me if there is no attention paid to me. Swimming through many Snakes while being constantly bumped in to them then spin to let them go by, means that I won’t let Manipulation, Moral troubles, or corruption slow me down by constantly bumping into me. The feces I refused to swim through and swam to the surface, means even though there are things in my life I want to get rid of I refuse to let go, regret maybe? I swim to the surface to be met by a bright light, which might mean that I understand my issues.

This sounds similar to a few dreams I've had, mostly when I was young (not sure - maybe anywhere from 9 through early teens?)

I had a bunch of dreams where I'd be in the yard and see a snake, often it was deformed. I was fascinated and a little scared, then I'd notice another and another, and pretty soon there were hundreds of them and they were getting bigger. Not like they were growing, just the new ones I noticed were bigger than the original ones. I'd start to get scared and try to get away (having to be careful to step where there are no snakes) or find a safe place. Usually I'd end up waking up when it turned into a nightmare. The wickedest one ended with me making it across the street where I looked down over the guardrail and rather than the gentle slope down into the woods that should have been there I was looking down maybe 100 feet into a concrete spillway with shallow water running through it and a gigantic snake laying in it - so vast I couldn't see either end of it, just a length of massive snake body stretching as far as I could see in either direction.

I've also had similar dreams with other kinds of animals - often starting with innocuous ones like a rabbit, then several more, then a groundhog or two, then maybe cats and dogs, then goats or sheep, then wolves, then bears, and sometimes culminating in gigantic dinosaurs. These often took place in my yard or even in my house, with me looking out a window first in wonder at the animals, and then getting scared. And often my dog was outside and I had to go out and try to rescue him. Another common feature of these dreams was my mom angrily chopping vegetables and seeming unable to understand the danger or even malicious about it, and often she had let the dog out in the first place and couldn't understand why I was concerned for it. When I asked her to look out the window she would either ignore me and keep chopping like a madwoman or just sort of scoff at me.

In one after seeing hundreds of animals culminating in giant dinosaurs (by which point all the other animals were gone) I went out to rescue the dog and there were no dinosaurs there, but there was some weird creature like an Alien warrior in metallic hues crouching at the pool drinking from it, and it moved fast as lightning and tried to cut us off (I found the dog) when we moved back toward the safety of the house.

So it seems clear that in my dreams the animals represented fears of the outside world and the house represented domestic safety/security. I've read that these frightening wild animals can represent sexual fears (Freudian interpretation) but I think they might be more general than that as well. Multiplying or growing bigger is also an important dream theme, but I don't remember what it means, other than maybe fears feeding on themselves and generating more fears.
