Twenty Seven Kisses on the Face?
Having read the sticky, I will give some background about myself. I am twenty years old, male, and a student of mathematics. I got into Lucid dreaming about two years ago. Due to my sleeping patterns, I took it up fairly easily. But since the I have been having difficulty actively controlling my dreams.
This dream concerns a very close and much loved friend of mine(female), who moved to another country for university back in September, and whom I haven't seen or had contact with since. An important note about the relationship is that, when we are not together, I spend a lot more time thinking about her than she does about me. I would rather not do this, as it builds up unwelcome and unrealistic expectations, as it has gotten in the way of my relationship with her evolving as she does.
What I remember:
I encounter her on the corner of a trail in a lightly forested area, perhaps the overgrown grounds of an old hotel or manor. I was being followed by a fox hunting procession, though a rustic one with no bright colours or fancy outfits. She is wearing a white blouse, and her hair is longer than she would ever allow it to get in real life, and much longer than I know it to be right now. It is somewhere between shoulder and armpit length. She looks either touched to see me, or still sad from some other event. She hugs me for a while(not an unusual this for her to do in real life). But then she loosens her hold slightly and starts kissing me on the face, not the mouth(She has never done this for real, though I kissed her on the forehead once). I have no great emotional response to this, and start counting the kisses, and as I count, a timer runs up in integer numbers of inches until it gets to 40". The timer is on a background which is alternately peach and pink coloured. I never see the timer at 0", and it doesn't necessarily go up one inch at a time. When the times gets to 40", I finish counting the kisses at 27.
Then the dream either dissipated or I woke up.
I don't have much of an idea what this might represent, or which parts are more significant than others. I have heard that someone appearing in a dream can symbolize a different person thing or idea, though. Does 27 have any special relevance. What is exactly forty inches long?
