Question The Wolf (an inquiry about a dream)

Hi everybody. I'm new here and new to this sort of thing in general, which is probably going to become painfully obvious lol. Now, let me start by saying that I've never really been one to look too much into dreams, as most of the dreams I've had could always be chalked up to anxiety and things like that. On top of that, I usually don't remember my dreams. However, for the last week or so, I've noticed a trend. Lately, there's been a large, dark gray male wolf in my dreams. Up until last night, it was mostly a passing thing, something I'd see out of the corner of my eye, or at a point in the dream where he was seemingly insignificant. Last night, though, throughout the whole dream, he followed me. Well, I suppose "chased " could be used, too, but not necessarily in an aggressive way. He was always behind me, just barely in view. I really don't remember most of the dream. The first part of the dream I can vividly remember is walking quickly through a forest, near a pond, that was right on the outskirts of a city. I could see the city skyline across the pond. It was late evening, right after the sun had fully set. I looked back and saw the wolf on the edge of a tree line, in plain sight but sort of far away. After walking a while with him following me, and a sense of urgency growing, I finally "thought at him", that that's the best way I can describe it. I thought at him, "what do you want from me?". He "thought" back, "I am the Hunter Hunter.". That sort of echoed, and I continued walking. I got to a building, where my friends were supposed to be in the dream. They were gone, the wolf was inside, and I woke up. It's worth noting that for a few seconds, it sort of felt like I was shaking. It could have been shivers because of the tense nature of the dream, or because it was cold, or something else. It didn't feel like normal shivers though. I don't know if that even matters, anyway. I soon fell back asleep, and I was within touching distance of the wolf. I was scared at first, but then it just suddenly felt as though he were protective of me. I was in a huge open space, like the middle of a desert, but with hard-packed dirt, not sand. I could only see a certain distance before dust obscured my vision. But it was just me and the wolf, and I was next to a staircase leading down. Not really underground, somehow, just down. The last part I remember was looking at the wolf's bright grayish-blue eyes, and he looked back. That's when I woke up and the dream ended. Now, as I said, I don't usually look too much into dreams, but this one sort of felt different than most dreams I've had. This dream felt... I don't know, important, I guess. That's the whole reason I'm here. I was hoping maybe someone could give me some insight into what this dream may mean, or who or what this wolf was. Thanks very much.

      Welcome.
Interesting dream. When you looked back at the wolf in the forest can you remember if he was to your left?

There are many things you could say about this dream.

It's hard to say. The tree line he was walking along was fairly far away, but I would have to say that he was off to my right.

Hmm. Well if the wolf was to the left I would have said that it would be a sign of death. Since it isn't then I think it points to something more positive. Sorry I can't be of much help.

I also have recurring dreams about wolves. They also feel "different" to me. I still can't get to understand what their true importance is.

      Are you male or female?

It sort of seems this wolf was trying to guide you to some sort of truth buried deep in your unconscious. Almost daring you to take the staircase down and confront something that you have repressed or forgotten.
