Lately, I have had several dreams that contain disappearing fires. These are NOT recurring dreams, since the dream itself is different every time. These happen whenever I come home from college, and sometimes while at college. They started around the same time my dad was diagnosed with cancer. My entire extended family (grandparents, cousins, siblings, etc.) is very close and we all live on the same street.
In the dreams, some part of my family home, farm, or surrounding area is on fire. The fires are always small but too numerous to count. I will run to get my family (aka everyone listed above) for help, but the fires all disappear. There are no signs that anything was ever on fire. They will tell me not to worry and leave. After they leave, I realize the fires have come back, but have moved closer to me or gotten worse. I never see the fires restart, just realized they are still burning. This will go on two or three times until I wake up terrified.
Each dream is different. In one dream, the fires reached the bushes and flowers in my front yard. After getting my family's help a third time, the fires did not reignite immediately. Just when I thought everything was over, a giant "bundle" of green lightening struck at the top of the hill, where the road is. This lightening was far away, but enormous enough to be a huge problem. I knew that meant aliens (which makes NO sense for me) and then the entire ground exploded with fire.
In last night's dream, the road and hills had disappeared, so we were living in a huge field. The fires were back, but no one else could see them. My entire family was in the field with me, trying to see the fires. There was a dark and furry monster in the field trying to chase and kill us. He ran on his back feet but was nearly hunched over to the ground. He could only chase us when the fire was gone. I was still the only one who could see the fire, because it disappeared when my family looked at it. He never killed anyone, but chased us for hours.
I am so confused, but really and truly believe this has something to do with my dad's cancer. Help?
