Unhappy Please help! Kinda freaked out!

Well, my dream started off normal. In the dream, I couldn't get to sleep. Well, I finally did, and when I woke up, that's when the weird stuff started happening. In the dream, I woke up to discover I had rather violently killed two dogs. We didn't do anything with the body's, my mom just hoped no one would see them. It seemed that the not being able to sleep thing was a recurring theme, because the next night (in the dream) I couldn't get to sleep. When I woke up, I found that we were moving to a new house. And I was a 12 year old girl (please note that in real life, I am a 15 year old boy.) When we moved, it didn't seem like we unpacked at all, everything was just there. Except we had all our old computers. My mom was playing this really weird Bambi game, and my sister was looking at her old pictures. Well, I also had a friend who came with us for some reason (she was a twelve year old girl, too.) We went to the park (or something, I'm not sure but it looked like a park), and we were under the jungle gym, and we start digging. Well, we find a whole bunch of fiction books (I remember one was a Star Wars one) and toys (one had to do with the Star Wars book we found.) We took them home, and the next day, my friend was kinda mad at me (I don't know why) but we just kinda blew it off. We had these plumbers come over because something (I don't remember what) was broken. One thing led to an other and they ended up singing Master of Puppets by Metallica in a talent show. Later, my friend was really pissed, but kinda sad. She brought me a bolt-action rifle, with no bullets in it, and said, "An empty gun, meaning I am empty and need to be fed." She them put a bullet in to it and pushed the slide down. She said, "Cocking the mechanism, meaning I am not afraid of injection." She then handed the gun to me. That's when I woke up. I'm not sure if this is important, but I was completely aware of what was going on, but I didn't have any control. Please help, I'm really freaking out.

I don't see the problem here. It seems like nothing more than a strange dream. Happens to us all
If you were lucid and had no control, this is quite common when you are starting out. You may find limited amounts of dream control to begin with but with practice, you will be able to do more. Even when you are an expert lucid dreamer, some dreams just don't want to be controlled, lol.

I can see why this would freak you out: killing a dog, unable to sleep, your changing gender, a move, a friend being mad at you, a gun, a friend talking weird.

All this has in common a theme of unease. Are you uneasy or nervous about something in real life? Working on that to calm down may help your dreams get better too. You need a night of restful sleep, and yet your sleeps do not give you rest because you have all these disturbing dreams - I think you realize that, and that's why you dream of having trouble sleeping. The gender change happens to some of us in dreams: I get dreams of being the other gender and a different age as well. Sometimes those dreams may mean that out of some reason one is uneasy in one's own skin right now, but at other times it can be a harmless roleplaying like a movie where you are identifying with a character that's not yourself - so this can mean something or it may not mean much I think, it depends. I think for a boy your age dreaming that he is a younger girl must be even more disturbing than for me (a 39 year old woman) dreaming that I was a teenaged boy gang member (I had such a dream). Don't let it bother you too much - dreams can be really weird. I would worry a bit more about your killing a dog and the loaded gun though if I were you. Make sure you don't have any such disturbing thoughts in real life. If you don't and it's just confined to dreams, it may be no big deal. But if in waking life you get any urge to harm an animal or seek out a gun or anything disturbing, please seek out help of a grown up you trust right away.

I mostly agree with JoannaB. I'm not sure exactly what all really pushed your buttons, but I've had a couple of dreams where I was rather violent in regards to dogs. I am an animal lover and would never in a million years intentionally hurt an animal. One of the dreams I had involved a kind of gauntlet - i had to perform certain tasks to get out of this house. The majority of it was killing dogs. Some were violent, but most were minding their own business. Even today, 10 years after the fact, I can remember the feel of one of the dog's spine snapping as i slammed it against the corner of a wall. suffice to say, i was quite disturbed by this dream. enough to resort to one of those dream interpretation books - apparently dogs tend to stand for loyalty (who would have guessed >_<) and I had been... a wee bit unfaithful around this time. In any case, it was 'just a dream'. your unconscious trying to work things out.
I don't suppose you have any interest in this 'friend' with the gun? sounds awfully suggestive from here

As a side note only, our of curiosity, do you often dream and more particularly, try to understand what they mean?
