new house stalker

i had dream was at gathering with my ex and his family he was talking about us getting back together when he felt ready i didnt want to get back together and decide i need to go away. I move to new house its in forest theres a strange little house further back behind mine. Later that evening whilst settling down with the family a man and woman start knocking there banging loudly and shouting hes telling me to open the door i open the window and my dog has his head out of window barking and trying to nip at mans ear the man is not bothered at all and keeps shouting there looking for someone and think they live here i tell them they dont and shout my exs name pretending hes upstairs and shut the window.After that they keep coming around the mans appearance has changed but not his clothes there trying to be friendly and get in house all the time i wont let them in. Then one day the man just walks in followed by his 3 teenage daughters and wife all carrying their belongings one girl has dvd player and video i grab them by the arms and tell them to leave the womans going on saying hey have been kicked out of their house and have to stay with us i tell them i dont care and have to push them out.I tell them my boyfriends on the way i try to ring him but my mobiles going wierd and snaps in two.Then im in large building and walking out under arches the woman is following me again going on that shes been kicked out of her house i see a man who works there he has a blue boilersuit on i ask him can i use his phone he says yes and we start walking to his office the womans still following us going mad saying she knows the man and something about witches.The man in the boilersuit now looks like one of my work collegues he recognises the woman and he is scared of her too.We go in office and try and shut door on her shes trying to push it open the man pushes door hard and i lock it the door is made out of material i rush to phone the connection is bad i am panicking i mean to ring my ex but ring my mum instead the phones breaking up and crackling im crying and trying to tell her i need to get away as a mad family is after us she dosnt understand what im saying im worried the connection is going to be lost before i can ring my ex for help.

As I was reading your account of the dream, I kept wondering how long ago you and your ex broke up, and did you ever worry that your ex could become a stalker of yours in real life? One way of interpreting this dream: your ex or his family want you to get together again, but you don't; that makes you think that you have moved on from that relationship (moved to a new house) and him trying to get back together with you would be like him being a stalker; the stalker's face keeps changing because that is not who he is (he represents either your ex or just the concept of "stalking" not by a specific person. Just like in the beginning of the dream it is your ex's family not just your ex trying to get you together again, so the stalker also comes with his family (you are stalked by a family). But you don't really think your ex is completely a bad guy, in fact he is the first person you think of to call for help (pretending he is still there) and later in the dream you try to reach him on the phone. So I think you don't just think of your ex as a potential stalker but you also think of him as a potential protector - contradictory emotions, but not unusual after a breakup (people usually have a mixed bag of feelings for exes).

hi yes this is really good i never looked at it that way we have been broke up for a long time now but i did think of him as a protector and must still do subconciously this has really helped thanks

She rejects the ex (and thus his family), and then is on the one hand harassed by a family, and cannot on the other get in touch with the ex she rejected.

This becomes a recurring theme: The dreamer is trying to get in touch with her ex, because she believes he can help her with the family and the seemingly mad woman. The first time she is pretending that he can hear her, the second time the phone breaks down, and the third time she rings her mom instead. So there is no way she can get in touch with her ex. The dream actually ends with the hope that she will despite all come in contact with him so that he can save her. So that is the main theme of the dream. I don’t know what the boyfriend represents, but perhaps the dreamer can contemplate what it might be she first rejects and then needs.
