i cant stop falling
ok first this isn't a dream so much as a recurring theme in my dreams and im not sure if this belongs here or in the recurring dreams forum so i apologize if this is the wrong place.
anyways for a long time now i have had dreams where i just cannot keep my balance and keep falling down whenever i try to walk or run somewere, i feel like a cartoon character trying to walk on ice who keeps slipping and falling. this happens in about half my dreams, no matter where i am or what im doing and it is getting pretty annoying and troublesome.
does anyone know why this keeps happening and maybe how i can get it to stop?
thanks alot and happy dreaming.

The only thing that I can think of is affirmations or mantras, such as, I will not (or do not, depending on what tense you like) fall in my dreams.

Well, since you posted this in dream interpretation, here is one possible idea: do you feel in waking life like you are either failing at something or not sure footed enough, like you are out of balance (metaphorically speaking)? If this is the reason, then the solution may involve creating better balance in your waking life.
Now I do not know what is currently on your mind, what issues you are facing. And if you were willing to post that, we could maybe see whether this dream theme could be applied there.
If I had this dream, I might for example wonder whether I spend too much time online, and whether the balance between working full time and family life and my online pursuits is too wobbly. But that would be me, and obviously your issues would probably be different.
If this makes no sense, please ignore. And in that case especially, consider posting some about what is going on in your life right now, especially any issues and important changes, and things that are on your mind.

yeah actually i do feel unbalanced about things, the best way i can sum it up is that i am alot more impulsive than i should be.
also, it seems that i usually start falling when i am trying to get somewhere specific.
does this help?

I would think that being impulsive and trying to get somewhere specific are a bit contradictory maybe. Hmm. Usually people who are less impulsive are more likely to have a plan taking them to somewhere specific.
Of course, it could be that your mind is reaffirming your impulsiveness, and maybe saying that if you try to get somewhere specific you will fail, so continue to be true to your nature, and continue to be impulsive?
I may be wrong though. Maybe it's all about finding the balance between impulse and planning.
Or it could be something completely different of course.

hmm, maybe its my mind pointing out my procrastinating? i do procrastinate alot.
in any case thanks alot for the help

Is the falling accompanied by a sense of something like drunkenness or being sleepy or disoriented? Ever have problems seeing properly in these dreams?
-
well its kinda like a feeling of dizziness while standing on ice. and no, there are no problems seeing that i can recall.

Dizziness/drunken feeling while having difficulty standing and walking in a dream is pretty common in many lucids. In particular I think WILDs, though when I experience it it's usually in a DILD and brought on by taking Galantamine. Other Galantamine users also report the same experiences frequently. Nobody is really sure what causes it, but general consensus is that it's probably due to some part of your brain being partially conscious but not completely. Or something like that. But the point is - it sounds like when this happens you're very close to being lucid, or maybe you are lucid but just not aware of it (I see you only have 1 lucid listed).
When it happens to me I'd say I'm sometimes lucid and sometimes I'm either right on the cusp of it or maybe lucid with very low awareness so I don't realize I'm lucid.

hmm now that you mention it, it does seem to happen more when im attempting lucidity.
honestly, with the amount of times this happens, im surprised i haven't managed to associate it with dreaming XD
