branch off of tupla thread in the beyond-dreaming forum

This is the rest of a dream I mentioned in a post on the tulpa thread, which I'm finishing here because the rest of it may or may not relate directly to that thread

When I laid down for the 'initiation', I was outside, in a place like southern California. But the scene changed around me, and I was then in a place a little bit like being in the inside of a building or factory complex that was closed for the weekend. The ground I had laid on turned into something like a rotating platform in the floor, with something like an elevator above it. When the 'familiar spirit' left me, it rose up the elevator. As I looked around the area afterwards, I found some papers sort of like blueprints, and a pen. I noted that one of the blueprints was folded diagonally from corner to corner, as if someone had done that to measure a square, and I marveled that they hadn't been provided with an implement for that. I started looking around for some scratch paper that I could take and write on without interfering with anyone's work. I wanted to make some notes on the surroundings of the rotating platform/elevator, so that I could find it again, since the place was a bit of a maze and I wanted to leave and go outside. Some kind of watchman came and rebuked me for messing with stuff, that I shouldn't be doing that when the place is closed. So I went outside without making my note.

Outside, I'm on a lawn in a large campus-like area. There is something like a huge explosion some distance to one side of me, and I can see the shockwave coming at me. I lay down in a gully-like depression to protect myself. When it hits, its not bad for me, because there's a large, marble, government-like building about 100 yards away from me that shields me from it. Fire and debris blow by to to either side of me though.

The explosion doesn't just stop, it keeps going, almost as if something far away and huge is blasting fire and large objects in my direction parallel to the ground. Trees and buildings go flying by, tearing up the ground, like in a tremendous storm. Finally something big enough hits the building shielding me that I figure I have to move. I run away, staying the areas that have been shielded by the buildings upwind. The going is actually a little harder that way, because the exposed areas of ground have been cleared of weeds, brush, and whatnot by the blast. But I would rather be safer that way.

Other people, Asian men, are fleeing in the same direction also. (They're not Chinese, and remind me a little bit more of Vietnamese, but a little less Asian and a little bit more like American Latinos.)

Now there are rampaging animals, like a safari has been set loose on campus, but they're made out of something like porcelain instead of flesh. We climb into a corner at the base of a building to hide from them. For some reason we are supposed to cover our eyes, this will protect us.The animals find us, and all of the men are taken except me, and one other, who's eyes were partially protected or maybe he was partially unconscious. He changes partway to porcelain. I try to help him. He shrinks to something to an infant or child-like condition, still partially porcelain, then grows again. I sense that he had some kind of disease of physical defect, and this process of being partially taken by the porcelain animals has somehow cured him.

Now I am by myself. I am still on the campus near a road, which has cars driving on it, which might be a little surprising given events so far. The porcelain animals are still rampaging around. I have my hand over my eyes. But I can see anyway, sort of like how you can see in a lucid dream even though your eyes are closed. I think that what I see through my hand is different from what I would see directly, but its close. That's the end of the dream.

I don't have time to try to decipher this at the moment, I need to get up early to work tomorrow. Here's another dream that my sister sent me a couple of days ago, which I also haven't had time to decipher and don't understand. I don't think she will mind me posting it.

I'm mostly an observer. There is a group of us, friends and family. We travel through time, usually to the past, to fix things. We go in groups of 2 or 3. To travel, we clear our minds, and then step through a mirror. This time I have difficulty going through the mirror and have to try twice. When we come out, we realize we are off target. We are in the future a few hundred years. It is unhappy and skewed, people are worshipping idols from the past, like tv shows, there's ritualistic suicide and murder. There's a small woman in our group, smart but shy. She starts composing music on a board in front of here, placing the notes just so. We are hoping to find a way home. Through the air bursts a young man- a friend we know well, but he did not go on this trip. He is in extreme distress and tells the woman that no matter what, she must not use a number- he rattles off multi-digit number that had a 5 and 6 in it and ended in .23. He tells us that it will cause some sort of explosion/time warp and end the world. Somehow he's from even farther in the future. A group of fanatics found him and forced him back to this moment to stop us. The woman pays half attention, lost in her own mind. She smiles, realizing she's fixed the puzzle, the music she was composing to get us home. "I can create a new world." It's an equation she uses and the answer is another number, but it's not the one the man warns us of, so we think it is OK. She starts to make adjustments to the equation, adding in all of us so we can be a part of this new world. Meanwhile the rest of us tease the man and woman. Back home they are friends, and secretly love each other, but have never told each other. Finally during the teasing they both realize their feelings, and that they are soul mates. She smiles as she adds him in to the equation, but the new answer is the number he told us not to use. He start sobbing when he sees this. In the future the fanatics had hung him on a rope and tortured him before they sent him back. In the future he is strangling slowly, with wounds in his stomach and will take days to die in agony. The woman cries too, she knows she will have to leave him.

As a point of possible clarification, the woman doesn't apply the forbidden code and destroy the world, she sees what it would do and lets the hanged man suffer and die instead.

Maybe there is a relevance to the 'hanged man' dream that someone posted here the next day.

I think that both of these dreams have fairly definite meanings, but they're about something so foreign to our usual perspective that the metaphors seem very strange.
