Stabbed in the Third Eye

I had a strange dream last night and my usual interpretation techniques are kind of failing me, so I thought I'd get some help.

I was having "normal" frivolous dreams that didn't really mean much, when all of a sudden I "woke up" in my bed, in my room (everything true to the way my room looks now). A tall white man, very muscular, was standing at the end of my bed. He was a ghost/spirit/entity made up of rage. He emitted both red and golden light. I could feel anger and hatred rolling off of him in waves, and intense pulses. I was too scared to speak. We stared at each other for a while. I finally asked him to go in peace, and to please leave me. I told him that he was scaring me and I didn't know how to handle the situation. I asked him again to leave in peace.
He took a deep breath, and asked if I knew why he was there. He had a steel sword in his hand that was silver, but gave off a whisper of a golden aura. He picked it up and tapped it to the ground, as if it were a walking staff. I kind of swallowed, and couldn't find the breath to speak. I subconsciously knew why he was there, but my body/physical self did not understand. I couldn't decide if I knew or not. I asked if it was because of one of my previous dreams, something about a prince and me, and I was cheating on the prince? (I'm currently single in reality, and I don't remember the dream of me and the prince). He again tapped the sword to the ground, this time with more force, as if my answer angered him.

The conversation, while dreaming, was very clear, but unfortunately the words have leaked from my head.

He was lecturing me, expressing outrage at me asking him to leave, and I think he was talking about the direction in life I was taking? I started to cry feebly, terrified of the level of emotion coming from him, the pure rage. I just wanted him to leave. He finally picked up his sword and with a shout, he drove it in to my third eye. My skull was as if it were made of stone - it stopped the sword from fully going in to my head - only a sliver of the tip was in my third eye. My forehead in both reality and in the dream were tingling, and the details took on various hues of red/purple/blue. As this happened, he became even more angry and started shouting at me. As he was shouting, he drove the sword further in to my skull. I was so confused, and could really only focus on the feeling in my head, and wonder why this was happening. Finally, he got it to stick in my head. He turned away and left. Then I actually woke up, feeling both clarified and confused.

Specifically, what would the sword in the third eye represent? I'm as confused as I was in the dream. I can't tell if it opened my eye or closed it. If it blocked it or freed it?!

Update: in relevance to my current reality, this dream seems to reflect my emotions on my current life situation. I'm broke, dropped out of school, single after a foul relationship... all of this was going well, actually, I was learning from everything and becoming empowered. I got two new jobs recently, and have been hitting a few roadblocks since - my friends all of a sudden have stopped communicating fully, as have I, my relationship to my surroundings have changed, I'm feeling trapped, and I kid you not, every day I manage to hit EVERY. SINGLE. RED. LIGHT. Also, my car died on the first day of my first new job, which had to be replaced. Then on the first day of my second new job, my new car had to be put in the shop for about 24 hours. We even hit every single red light when my parents came to pick me up at midnight, so that was pretty weird. I feel like I'm getting signs from everywhere that I'm not doing something right, I'm going down the wrong path, yet I for some reason am unable to see/hear guidance as to what my correct path is. I know what I WANT to do with my life but I'm having a hard time getting there. I feel like this is relevant to my dream, but like I said, the sword and they third eye really threw me off.

Maybe this tall white muscular man is the enraged part of you, the part of you that just feels upset about your life and the way its going. He is muscular because this part of you is strong, stronger than your third eye.

This man wants to kill off that last of you that is connected to the world that is connected to the third eye. I think this may have to do with your spiritual life and your connection to the divine. Maybe this was an intervention against the divine?

Indigo is often associated with the third eye and is the bridge of answers between life and death. Indigo is also a color of deep change. Indigo can also be a deep blue color.

When he stabs you in your third eye and you see colors of red/blue/purple this could be associated with your chakras. Red is for the root of you, the base, the physical. So this could be how you deal with things now, through the physical, its the thing that keeps you going and going whatever happens to you. The blue is the ability to verbalize and express, maybe this part is more of what you want to be able to do but can't because you are stuck in the cycle of moving and going no matter what. Now the purple color, can be associated with the third eye and that is the intuitive part of you.

This to me means that you need to come into terms to becoming more aware, opening your third eye, and staying in tune with your intuition. While it may sound hocus pocus, it may be time for some divine guidance. I've had experiences myself that I don't understand, or dreams. I think those happenings are just telling me to stay aware and intuitive to my surrounding and keeping in touch my inner self, making sure what I am doing in my life is okay for me.

Hi, interesting dream. I don't have this stuff figured out for myself, much less for anyone else, but I'll take a "stab" at it.

Let's assume the man represents your animus, and to some extent what might be thought of as providence or your "higher self". I think its important to listen to what he has to say, and follow his advice if you think he's right. And sometimes you should even trust him on things where he seems to knowledge that you lack. But you have to decide for yourself what you want and what you're going to do, you can't look to him to do that for you. If you look to him as an authority, you're making him into something that he's really not, and turning him into an ignorant tyrant. He's actually too much a part of all of us not to be wrong about stuff. You condemn yourself when you think you're wrong, but like the rest of us you lack a full understanding of what right and wrong is.

You might also consider the possibility that he's not really enraged, that he's just trying to communicate an idea that's opposed to something that you're very attached to. It might feel like an attack from your standpoint, but that might not really be his intent at all.

Maybe the answer in relation to the 'third eye' is not to open it or close it, or block it or free it, but to treat it with more compassion. Practice mental yoga if it comes naturally and feels healthful, but not if it feels stressful oppressive to you. And don't believe the dogma how its only your 'false self' that feels the stress, you don't need that kind of schizophrenia. Your mind needs some degree of freedom just like a nation needs freedom, if you try to impose an ideology on either it suffers.

I don't know if that will help or not. You have my sympathy though. I guess all you an do is try to treat yourself and other people right, while keeping your eyes open, and hopefully it will work out before too long.

I dont know what to say, a difficult dream.

I doubt this is an actual dream, sounds more like a little short story or a day dream by a young person. Are you sure this is an actual dream, that a big muscular man with a sword actually behaved like this in a real dream you had? Sorry for doubting, but perhaps you have added things to the dream yourself so to speak, or confused a dream you had with a fantasy?

Nope, this is a real dream I had. They can be really clear from time to time. And that's why I'm here, it was a little out of the norm - even for me!

There's nothing abnormal or unbelievable about this dream. Most people only have a few dreams like in their life, some people have them every night. You definitely don't need to go to a doctor and get medicated for this. Actually that would be a lot like sticking a knife in your third eye. You're just trying to find your way in life, and your subconscious is trying to communicate in response to your unspoken question. This is a symptom of mental health, not illness. If there's any dysfunction involved, its the discomfort with feeling and understanding your own emotions, but that's just a part of the human condition.

This is a hard dream, car was broking down with no reason, she felt inside, she is not doing something right,...

So what shadowofind suggested was to ignore ur feelings, intuition, what is happening in ur life, that something is not right and give a banal respose.
That was like a strike with a sword into ur third eye, ignoring ur won feelings, ur own knowing like u are not going in right path,... ur own intuition, inner seeing,..

To go to professional for advice is nothing strange, no strike with sword there, if u know something is wrong, he does that as professional as his job. Only a prefessional opinon, and psychoanalysts are not charlatans and are trained to give right direction. ( mosty doctor and then in training for 4 years )
