Ok, this is what I think - but keep in mind I may be wrong.
I think the train trip is like your life which is kind of on track - very goal oriented and following the work goals path. See, a train's path is less flexible and more predefined, following certain goals with fewer distractions, and I think your life which is mostly focused on work right now is kind of like that.
The earthquake that did nothing to the train may be about you being shaken up, perhaps emotionally perhaps by stress, but it did not affect you too negatively, despite having had the potential to do so. Perhaps this is about your prior troubles, during the first few months in Costa Rica that were hard.
People running into the ocean into the waves is very different from you who is on the train. Since I am interpreting you on the train as yourself being goal oriented in work life, perhaps the people who are running into the ocean are people with very different goals and very different lifestyles than your own, whom you have trouble understanding.
The people who get hurt may be the sacrifices you make by following this life that is focused on work, and your social life is sacrificed, so perhaps those people represent the social life. Also often in dreams other dream characters represent parts of oneself of one's personality, and if one interprets the dream like that perhaps this dream is saying that you are too negatively affected by your lack of social life, that your personality suffers? Of course dreams do tend to exaggerate, so killing off people in dreams does not usually mean that anyone gets killed in waking life, but it could symbolize broken off relationships and hurt feelings and such.
At one point you tell the driver to slow down. I think the driver is also yourself. Maybe you tell yourself to slow down a bit. Maybe you think that rushing on with your work oriented life should slow down a bit some times so that you can pay more attention to your social life more, to the things that you have been neglecting.
Then you see the issue with the tracks. I think maybe you are worried that if you slow down concentrating on work only that your work might get off track - off the track of your one goal. But the dream is telling you that it is ok, I think. Nobody gets hurt when the train gets off the track, so maybe even though you see a perceived risk to your work life if you focus more on your social life, but you rather think you will do ok and everything is fine if you live a little more socially.
So you get on the other train. Maybe this train is more about your social life than about your work? You are surrounded by family and a friend. Perhaps this is about family life - there is a woman with a kid there, are you considering starting a family some day? even if not, it is a more family oriented train, more about people. All seems to be going well, until toward the end. I am a bit baffled by why that kid is not going to make it, by why he has to fall. One possibility that has occurred to me though is perhaps this is about your lingering doubt as to whether you really can afford to focus more on your social life and on family and friends. Perhaps you still do worry that all will not be well with that.
Th train travel could also be about your moving from country to country, both before, and possibly again. Train travel after all usually is about long trips. However, methods of transportation in dreams often are symbolic. In my dreams more often than not it is car travel, and whether or not I am the driver and whether or not I know where I am going and whether I am lost. I have interpreted my own car trips in my dreams to be mostly about my spiritual and personal development, and taking charge of myself or not. However, your train travels may be more literal than mine, and they may be about literally traveling a lot as well.
The kid who is not going to make it at the end is what worries me the most. The kid may well be a part of you, a part of you that is at risk of falling or failing because you travel too much perhaps, pursue your work too much, do not stop and think enough or are not cautious enough with yourself. Take care of yourself. Make sure not to fall. If possible stay safe with your family and friends for support, because I think that part of you is worried about yourself, about the part of you who is represented by that kid. Which part of you is that kid? Perhaps he is the most vulnerable part of you?
I hope some of this helps. If not, please keep in mind that there are many possible interpretations of dreams. Of and not all dreams have deep meanings. I once had a very gruesome dream which involved a very brutal revolution that I participated in, and yet at the time of that dream I did not have any major issues, and in fact had just had one of the most pleasant days with my family. I wondered why I had this dream, and then I realized that I had participated in a study, and answered some questions about anxiety and anger, and while my answers to the questionnaire were that my anxiety and anger levels are very low, but my mind got some ideas out of that questionnaire for my dream I think. Also often dreams are about less important things like TV shows or books or news or advertisements we saw. So this dream may not be about the important stuff in your life after all if it does not sound right to you.
