Dream about crying dog, woke up crying!

Okay so this morning I dreamt about myself being in an asia hut, or something. An Asian guy was at the cash register & I can't remember what I was buying or anything. I know my boyfriend was with me, along with my mom & I think my dad at some point. Anyways, in the shop there was a dog laying on the floor, but all four of his paws were tied up, along with his snout, & it kind of looked like a border collie if that makes a difference. The dog was sitting on a scale & it had a weight & a price. I knew the dog was going to die, & I tried persuading the Asian cashier if he could give me the dog or something at least! & the guy kept telling me it he had to & he couldn't do anything about it. The guy doesn't look familiar to me at all. So somebody took off the rope around the dogs nose area & he looked right at me & he started crying like a human. I could feel the dog knowing it was going to die, & that's when I really tried persuading the guy to save the dog. Then I went on the deck & I was crying so hard & I was really upset the dog was going to do, & then that's when I actually woke up crying...

Before I can try to interpret this dream, could you tell me a bit about yourself, such as: Do you have a dog, had a dog, or want to have a dog - what do dogs mean to you personally, if anything? Is there anything that is making you feel sad, helpless, or constrained? Which issues are you facing in life which could possibly be related or are just a lot on your mind? I believe that dreams are often formed out of what is on our mind, and are hard or impossible to interpret out of context.
You may say I'm a dreamer.

I don't have a dog anymore, our family dog passes out many years ago. Dogs don't mean much to me personally, they're just an animal. But I love them a lot! That's why I was upset because I didn't want it to die. & maybe I feel helpless because my mom recently found out about my boyfriend & I daring, & they were both in my dream, & she's starring to let me hangout with him more & be more understanding about us.. & I looked up what it meant to wake up crying & I learned that I finally cried about something that I've been holding back sadness from, & the situation is over. So maybe it was trying to say my mom is slowly trying to accept mine & my boyfriends relationship? I have no idea honestly! I think I've been worrying about stuff larely, I've been very emotional & I don't know why! I'm not sure if your in to astrology but I'm a Taurus with a cancer rising sign..

I am not into astrology, but perhaps someone else will come along who is.

Here are my thoughts: this dream was about your worrying and being very emotional lately which you do not understand what it is about in waking life, and so your dreaming mind was trying to figure it out I think.

One thing your mind brought out was the memory of the death of your family dog. This may represent your caring for others and especially family and those who are not family by blood but whom in your emotions you treat like family: like your family dog and like your boyfriend. Yes, I think the situation with your mother and your boyfriend probably contributed to this dream, a delayed emotional reaction after the fact. I wonder whether while your mother had been refusing to accept your boyfriend, maybe you had been holding back the emotions, trying to not be emotional about it, and if so maybe now the emotions that had been bottled up are coming out?

I wonder though whether your mind has figured out what your increased emotionality and worrying lately is about or whether it does not know yet? You know it could be hormonal or chemical imbalance, and not a rational reason? If so, your mind might still try to solve this issue in a different way, to try to figure out what is going on. And the answer may not be found in dreams after all, it may need waking life to figure out. Just some ideas of mine, but they may of course be wrong. Best!

For me a dog is like desire. So for instance, if I want to be able to help people at my office, but the organization and turf rules don't allow it, then that part of me will feel tied up, because that desire to help is an innate, reflexive social thing like that. Dogs are like that, they want to please you, or protect you, or eat tasty meat, and that desire is close to the surface, not restrained much by thought or other considerations.
