Monstrous turkey spirit in a hut

My boyfriend and I were moving frantically through a forest. It was a beautiful autumn forest filled with sunlight. We were were scavenging for survival and were either running from something predatory, or were simply afraid of being seen by something potentially predatory.

We came to a clear space in the forest where there was a a circular hut, only it has no walls, only posts, and a thatch roof. From the center of the ceiling there were turkey bones and a wattle hanging from a long strong the reached almost to the floor/ground. From seeing it, we knew that there as a powerful turkey spirit ho resided in those bones in the hut. The spirit was currently not there, though. It was out in the forest hunting humans, and we knew that it was quite formidable and monstrous. But we took refuge in the turkey hut anyway, feeling safe from whatever had been troubling us before. The hut was filled with several magical objects, feathers in particular. Then we noticed these head-sized gray balls that were scattered around the floor. There weren't too many, maybe three or four. We cracked one open and found their contents to be the indigestible human remains that the turkey had regurgitated - bones, and their personal objects those wore when they were eaten such as glasses, wallets, etc. The balls were like owl pellets, only much larger, and rather than being dry and dusty inside, they were slipper and gelatinous. We became fearful after opening the first pellet because we knew that the turkey could smell it once it was opened and would come sprinting back to its hut to take revenge on us. But were were scavenging for survival, so we took wallets and other odd objects that would could use. We found a couple pocket knives, and I deliberated over taking the older, broken one when I had also found a brand new one. I decided to not be choosey and took them both because they were both useful, even if the one was beat up. I also found a crisp $10 bill, which made me fantasize about all the food it would buy us at the grocery store. I was aware it wasn't a lot of money, but thank made me feel even more thankful for it.

When I woke up, I remembered the crisp $10 bill that my dad gave me yesterday in the waking world. Such a small bill made me feel a little embarrassed and bitter, but I was thankful for it at the same time.

I do not know whether or not you live in the United States? If not, this interpretation is less likely to apply. Here in the US, the holiday of the turkey is approaching, the holiday during which we are expected to have a spirit of giving thanks, the holiday of Thanksgiving. And yet, your dream puts a darker spin on it, and part of the reason I think is either because you were bitter and embarrassed about the small amount of money that a $10 dollar bill represents when your dad gave it yesterday, or because you were embarrassed that instead of being thankful for what you got, you were dissatisfied with it - so instead of looking at how much you could get with $10, you focused on the fact that it was only $10. So instead of buying a turkey, and feasting on it and giving thanks, you were instead haunted at night by the spirit of the turkey, the spirit of Thanksgiving, and your insufficiency in being true to that spirit.
You may say I'm a dreamer.
